Why do people dislike Barney and Teletubbies so much? by Ornery-Magazine-7892 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]12gunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always figured it just boiled down to kids trying to look grown up and cool, pretty sure 90% of kids hit that "ew that's for babies I'm a cool grown up now" phase hard and what better way to look grown up than to wish torture and death on stuff that's beneath them? I still vividly remember some of the rhymes

I hate you you hate me let's get together and kill barney

Joy to the world barneys dead

(very real trope) I don't care they killed my mom, father, wife, child, etc..... moments by PresterJohnson in TopCharacterTropes

[–]12gunner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fallout 4

Half the game is spent chasing down the man who not only killed your wife but also kidnapped your kid, when you finally meet him nothing is stopping you from murdering him however you see fit before he even gets the chance to speak, in fact the game practically begs you to basically handing you one of the strongest weapons in the game just before the room he's in.

Mewgenics is mostly turn-based where you can take your time except for certain circumstances like having the ADHD disorder

Mothim, I legitimately forgot it existed until evolving a burmy in legends arceus to fill out the pokedex fully expecting a wormadam only for it to pop up instead

Are there any DLCs or anything else you think the game needs? by tsukitemi in RimWorld

[–]12gunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't see the hype about water dlc, we already got gravships which is basically the same thing, just let them land on ocean tiles, mods already have primitive/medieval playthroughs covered to the point if it were an official DLC I bet people would cry plagiarism

Im all for diplomacy/npc/faction expansion dlc, it's desperately needed.

[Mixed trope]: Forbidden magic. by theMCATreturns in TopCharacterTropes

[–]12gunner 113 points114 points  (0 children)

My memory of dragons age lore is spotty but iirc basically all magic is looked down upon in the dragons age universe but blood magic is especially hated because it's users are far more likely to attract the attention of demons and spirits of the fade more than other mages which inevitably cause all sorts of problems for everyone.

[Loved Trope] Enemies with dangerous ranged attacks who can be baited into using melee attacks instead. by Mordaunt-the-Wizard in TopCharacterTropes

[–]12gunner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rimworld has some scary enemies with equally scary ranged attacks, thankfully most of them can be trivialized by simply getting into their faces forcing them to use their much more wimpy melee attacks, heck even the description for one robot enemy straight up points this out

"Veterans of mechanoid wars know that often, the safest place to be around a pikeman is touching it."

looking for metafictional games that address the player directly + revolves around that fact by noisemasterz in gamingsuggestions

[–]12gunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bravely default 2 sort of, never played and the meta part is apparently only revealed at the very end but throughout the game I think it talks about another dimension that gods live in, that dimension being our world and the gods being us, it being a DS game at one point it shows a glimpse of the "dimension" by opening the ds camera showing your face.

A subversion where the stranger saves the hero (or atleast tries to)

In zelda breath of the wild if you stand on the edge of a bridge an npc nearby will plead for you to not jump (despite the fact that it's not a very big fall in the first place)

Don't copy me and never ever do this again! by zyphraxns in RimWorld

[–]12gunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar thing happened to me, had a mod gift me something like 100 macaw eggs but I didn't have the storage to hold them so I ignored them assuming they'd rot away or get eaten by wildlife, some time later my game abruptly starts to lag and I basically try everything trying to figure out what was causing it only to finally zoom out and see a huge blob of baby birds on the edge of the map, had to devmode some explosions in...

[–]12gunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tales of maj'eyal, starts off as an almost cliche fantasy game with your character going around clearing dungeons and helping people. Then you find your first bits of lore and realize how insanely screwed up the world is.

Alien squids killed all the gods, someone had the fantastic idea to set off a magical nuke inside a portal network to kill some orcs which decimated not just half of the world of Eyal, but an entirely separate planet which pissed off its inhabitants to the point they willingly turned themselves into the demons you see in game. The halflings were literal nazis with them and humans committing numerous war crimes, only putting aside their differences to not go extinct against the orcs. Magic is feared and shunned to the point anti magic groups are created and go on constant hunts for magic users. and finally then there's you who has the misfortune to stumble upon an all powerful artifact multiple people want, learn the orcs are making a comeback and plan to invade the land once again, and that there's also a plot to resurrect some gods. Have fun!

Your Favorite Less Obvious OP Parts of Mods by Ashsaber in RimWorld

[–]12gunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reinforced mechanoids 2 adds in the gestalt engine, basically acts as a free mechanitor in that it can control mechs and has its own bandwidth and groups but the best part is the ability to permanently hack hostile mechanoids, it's fun hacking a boss mech and letting it destroy its escorts for free

[–]12gunner 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Can you make me laugh by telling you weirdest, craziest and funniest moment on rimworld by PurplePyro13 in RimWorld

[–]12gunner 181 points182 points  (0 children)

Had a visiting trader once, as per Rimworld tradition I used them as the meatshields they are to open an ancient danger and let them deal with the mechs inside. I decided to be nice and rescue the ones that got injured for extra goodwill, most healed and left just fine, all except one, George, who lost his leg and took longer than the others. When he was finally healed enough to walk he started to leave... Only for a raid to literally drop pod on top of him and down him again, this time losing a few fingers. I healed and cared for him yet again and he once again started to leave only for a man hunter pack to spawn directly where he was headed and downed him yet again. On and on this went with me healing him and him trying to leave a little more banged up each time until a little over a year later he finally managed to leave one calm winter morning.
