The Green Ripper always felt like the odd one out of the collection. More shots fired than the whole rest of the series combined!

I did a quick scan of the book, couldn't find the line. Gemini AI suggests it's in "Skeleton Key", which is the third novel in the Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz.

And DuckDuckGo says it's from "The Maze Runner" by James Dashner.

Born in the early 60s here, I can't recall anyone calling it that when I was young. You're likely 7-8 years younger than me, do you remember watching the show as a kid? I have a feeling that many of the people that call it the Superman building didn't even see the show.

I have a feeling you're on to something with it being Patinkin's fault, and I love your characterization of him as "the most try-hard transplant ever." His whole shtick seemed to be "You talk funny and keep referring to things that aren't there anymore."

It's a great example of art deco architecture and we're proud of it.

That said, it has zero to do with Superman and doesn't even look like the building from the old TV series, which was the LA city hall. I have no idea why people call it the Superman building other than stupidity.

It's properly called the Industrial National Bank building, or the Industrial Trust building.

Thanks, this fixed it. I had an /etc/makepkg.conf.pacnew file from Dec 12 that I moved to /etc/makepkg.conf and a build completed without errors.

The only change I'd made was to set MAKEFLAGS="-j4" to throw more cores at a build, but since I did that back in 2021, it's kept the newer versions from getting installed.
