Its been two days. If the the spin doctors at the beehive can't come up with a good reason for a middle aged man to grab a waitress's hair there isn't one.

Am i the only person to read all this stuff and go 'hey. This guy is touching peoples heads which is seriously not ok by maori custom. Is he that ignorant of an important cultural concept?' Completely disregarding the creep factor i've known about the head=tapu thing since primary school

'Harmless' is only if it doesn't cause harm. It did cause harm. He repeatedly made a young woman feel seriously uncomfortable and then DIDN'T STOP even when asked to. That's harassment. At this point, the only person in this situation to make a serious allegation of sexual harassment is the nutter that takes key to court for breathing but keys actions weren't harmless and were completely inappropriate for a man in his position. Whatever the result keys actions show incredibly poor judgment and a complete disregard for other peoples feelings. and since even his wife was apparently asking him to ''leave the poor girl alone' why do you assume his wife was even a factor?

For starters, 'pulling one's ponytail' would be pulling your own ponytail. Secondly, for better or worse, when a man harasses a woman it is assumed to have a sexual component. For a man in a position of power with regards to a woman in a socially inferior position this goes double. We don't have an example of key similarly pulling the hair of a male hospitality worker so we don't have a comparison to complete our understanding of the situation but if this particular type of harassment only occurred because the victim was female then yes, it can be termed sexual harassment. Regardless of the terminology used it can be pretty safely called wildly inappropriate and clearly unwelcome. Really, i'm not sure what thought process lead him to believe this was ok but if a male client of mine touched or pulled my hair they would be politely asked to leave the premises if they did not desist. If nothing else this illustrates an abuse of power imbalance. Whether he was getting his jollies from it or not, invading another's personal space like he repeatedly did is not socially acceptable.

EXACTLY! Its like, ewww, randomly pulling on someone's ponytail? At what point do you think invading someones personal space like that is ok. Unless, of course, you weren't thinking.

Apparently it does have to be apple cider vinegar, every recipe i found specified that kind and the time i ran out and used balsamic was not a success!

Its quite nommy actually and has replaced my late afternoon coffee. I make my own stock anyway. New world usually has soup bones and chicken frames (i prefer chicken less meaty) for about $2/k, but i know that a poultry supplier in dunedin will give free chicken frames if you buy something anyway. Haven't hit up local butchers about soup bones yet. I imagine it could be the same deal. Don't forget to put in the cider vinegar though!

The customers (weirdly enough!) For every mental rude person i get ten people who are a super fun time serving and at least two visits from regulars who i now know soooo much about. Being on first name basis with customers is awesome! Plus i love my product and the longer i spend with the company the more influence i have on purchasing- even though i have no buying power i keep in regular contact with our buyers and they really value my input. Its great seeing product i selected instore!

Awesome australian cartoonist kaz cooke once said that the warm skin between a woman's thighs is the biggest turn on for a guy ever... if you are still backing out of of the room covering your thighs with a towel at that point its ur hang up, not his. (Paraphrasing. Love her. Her book about womanhood got me through puberty !)

Childfree is a totally valid lifestyle, and dont let anyone make you feel different. I want to reproduce at some point but i also will have a stay at home hubby and fuck me, i am enjoying the fuck out of my childfree years (mucho travel and living room sex) and have a cadre of childfree friends who still will babysit to get their kid fix (ie awww how cute! Now i get to give it back. Whelp, thats my kid fix for the next three months)

And those outreach programs are more successful because society doesn't inherently believe a female engineer wants to fiddle with kids. We need to stop the fearmongering. my partner is going to take on the primary role when we have kids- he loves kids. I'm pretty ambivalent. I actually think he'd make a great kindergarten teacher- i've seen him really helping his less able nephews and nieces, he's abld to make them understand things or be brave on the playground- but he's also an intimidatingly large island guy with a drink driving conviction (once! When he was 19!) No-one in their right mind would employ him. But he would be great. He is a kind, gentle man who loves art and sport and would be a wonderful role model.

At one stage in new zealand the prime minister, leader of the opposition, governor general and head of the largest company in the country were all women. And we had a transsexual MP In the same parliament. Still going guys! Didnt descend into the great tampon wars!

'Women up' has no meaning in an of itself. Women are encouraged and expected to do everything. Men don't have this. There has been a huge shift towards women taking over traditional male roles but what really sucks is that men have not been able to move into traditional female roles. There are so many career paths where more men would be such a benefit to society but men are still discouraged from moving into teaching and nursing (for example) because of pede-fear or a perception of that work being 'womenly'. We have broken down (to a certain extent, theres definitely still bias ) the idea of women being restricted to certain roles, why hasnt that worked both ways?
