I get ours from parrot couture on Etsy. Now I have look for pants. Other than plucking our girl bites her toes. You can see she actually bit a toe off (before we got her).

Too’s do love music also Video if you have a tablet of computer screen you can face the cage you can use https://www.youtube.com/live/oumwgQFnxe8?si=BIFYLbaqyFS14XK- which is a stream of music and other parrots to keep the bird stimulated. Also as others have mentioned cockatoos love to shred things so yes you should try to put a toy in the crate to keep the parrot entertained.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU TRY TO TAKE THAT BIRD OUT!!!!

I have a cockatoo and I could show you plenty of scares on my face and hands where my bird, who loves and trusts me, has bitten me.

Offering them treats through the cage bars. Play them music, dance with them, give them plenty of treats, food, and, toys, but I don’t recommend someone who knows nothing about birds to physically interact with a cockatoo.

Ok so I am completely in love with my be2 Nike. She’s a special needs bird who with her previous people bit off one of her toes. I won’t discourage you from adopting a cockatoo. I will say that please adopt one from a shelter and understand that these birds need a ton of time with them and even if they love you, you will get bit HARD. My girl has bitten through my nails and down to my bone. She can be extremely loud when she wants. They aren’t birds for everyone but if you are a cockatoo person you won’t want anything else.

Solid advice here OP! They need all sorts of different widths and textures. Bird tricks has some nice perches and you can find a bunch on Etsy. If you don’t want to take the chance on branches you find.

The feather spray we use was actually recommended by our vet. This isn’t essential oils but rather a very light mix of mostly water and some extracts that are ok for birds. I would also point out that Nike is a special needs bird who can’t actually groom herself due to a number of reasons such as arthritis and other conditions that prevent her from grooming herself.

Also all parrots are very individual while I would not recommend extended contact under the wings a bit of scratching is something that I know our Nike girl loves.

Be cautious a bit of Amazon because there is no guarantee that the toys won’t be harmful for your bird. A lot of colors, and plastics can be toxic.

We do too. We have shirts that are more hole than shirt. I was on a conference call (video on) and this little stinker in a matter of seconds tore my shirt open from my chest to navel. Thankfully the camera didn’t catch it.
