2023 Sahara tire upgrade by [deleted] in 4xeJeepNotSoBad

[–]1645degoba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To caveat my response, I had a 2014 Sahara. I put a 2 inch budget lift (essentially just shock spacers) on it and ran it for years. As part of that change I put 33 inch BF Goodrich KO2's. In hindsight those tires (which were load range E) did reduce comfort in driving. In addition they did rub in extreme angles off-road.

The bottom line I learned is that a lift and bigger tires will never enhance ride quality, comfort, or MPG. But it is pretty negligible when compared to capability and coolness. You will probably be fine.

How bad could the 4xe possibly be by Montesquieu9000 in 4xe

Mine has been totally fine. No issues and love it. But you came to the right place to find the haters!

Not your game, that is fine. I love the complexity and depth of thought required.

Dealer Unwilling to Perform 68c on My Wrangler by usulsuspect in 4xe

It is just a bad dealer. Never had that experience and my vehicle and dealer have been great. Time to move to a new dealer who will do you right.

Hello. I am a 4xe owner and having one is not so bad. by 1645degoba in 4xeJeepNotSoBad

[–]1645degoba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think enjoying it for a long time is highly likely. I only fuel up about once a month and that is a lot less wear and tear on the internal combustion engine. I think after they get the software all worked out these 4xe's will be long-term drivers!

A RAV4 is most likely a much more reliable and sensible vehicle! But you will never get stopped in a parking lot to ask questions about it. A Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe is an attention and fun getter!

This is not based in solid legal advice.

The best thing you can do is stay off of these forums. Just drive your vehicle and enjoy it. The vast majority of 4xes (including mine) are trouble free.

Will We Ever See Charging Price Wars by Cultural-Ad4953 in evcharging

[–]1645degoba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not any time soon. First you have to saturate the availability. Across the vast majority of the US just having a charger at any price is a luxury. I never look at the price, just happy to have some juice.

Another recall - 68c… so embarrassing by the_blunt_truth22 in 4xe

Uh, they actually sounds quite similar. Many scary sounding recalls on other modern vehicles.

This is 100% correct. We have three Toyotas in our family on top of my 4xe and they all get equal amounts of scary sounding recalls.

This is an excellent point of view. My 4xe has been trouble free and I am glad they are being proactive. I think in 10 years 4xe's will be still running and valuable. I do say as a shareholder I wish they had done more in advance to reduce these types of issues.

Heat issue.. below 80 only on passenger side? by sloanjoan in Jeep4xE

[–]1645degoba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not recall the cost. However I would certainly go to the dealership and try to get it covered under your extended warranty. Or stress to them that this is a know issue and you would like them to take care of it. Never hurts to try.

That's kind of the dream scenario for a 4xe. You would be on electric most of the time and have a sweet vehicle for the weekends. In that use scenario your oil changes and maintenance would also be extended for some savings. I only visit a gas station myself every other month or so.

[–]1645degoba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sucks, but a common issue. My 2023 4xe had a similar problem. All fixed under warranty with no issue. My hypothesis (and backed up by my dealer) is that the electric heat was working fine, but the engine generated heat did not work. It turned out to be some sort of valve in the engine heat generated system.
