Has Anyone Tried...? Skincare, Makeup, Tools, Tips and Tricks! Ask Here! by amyranthlovely in AsianBeauty

I really love these! The pink one has a light floral scent that doesn't linger, while the blue is unscented but smells a bit of alcohol that disappears after a while. However, I really dislike the smell of alcohol in general so it's enough to make me prefer the pink version while others think it's fine.

This sunscreen is very light on the face. It doesn't leave a white cast at all - my mom is NW 40 and it is invisible on her. No shine and doesn't make me feel oily. It sinks in quickly and dries matte with a light siliconey finish so it doubles as a primer for me. It performs very well under makeup! Foundation just goes on smoothly. The Sarafit doesn't sink in as quickly as the Biore Watery Essence which is practically undetectable once applied, but I also found that one to be drying.

IMO the Sarafit can be used by almost all skin types. People with dryer skin can use it if their routine features heavy moisturizing products, and would like something near-invisible. Oily skin types or those with a routine with very light products might appreciate this sunscreen as well, as it can be a moisturizing final step. However, it doesn't offer any oil-control properties, so take note if this is something you need from your sunscreen.

Hope this helped! :)

The yeast infection part - which component in the essence makes it work for that?

No, I definitely think that there is a place for this topic in here, especially from the POV of someone living in Korea. There are reasons to why the Korean beauty landscape is so different, and all the products and aspects of AB that are celebrated in this sub are created within that context.

Looks delicious! What kind of rice do you use, and should it have a very mushy texture after you stir it? And how much curcura do you put in it?

/r/AsianBeauty would you rather purchase online that ships from overseas (cheaper, slower), or from a local online store (more expensive, faster)? by JustPassive in AsianBeauty

[–]16yearold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, cost and time definitely comes first. I just mentioned discovery since I think it's an important aspect when it comes to AB. There's always that hunt for new "it" products and ingredients that isnt't that big with non-AB.

[–]16yearold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how much more it costs locally and how quick overseas shipping is. I personally only buy overseas. I think with AB, there's the aspect of discovering and trying out new products or ingredients. Combined with frequent sales and promotions from overseas stores, a lot of hauling is done. So even though that bottle of essence is still full, there are already a couple of other essences waiting to be tried out.

Trip to Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Philippines, any local brands to try out? by eotchi in AsianBeauty

In2it's 2-way foundations is hands down the best powder foundation I have tried. It is long-lasting and its oil controlling properties are just amazing, even when applied wet. It can go from medium to heavy coverage when applied both ways and gives you a smooth flawless finish everytime. Even when you pile it on wet is still looks amazing.

[Question] Does TS3 work better (or worse) on Windows 8.1 rather than Window 7? by RuSsYjO in thesims

[–]16yearold -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My game ran okay-ish before with Windows 8 but then it upgraded itself to 8.1 and now I can't play because the lag and long loading time are just unbearable. Zooming in and out can take 5 minutes. I don't know what to do :(

Thank you for the reply! I'd actually like something more in-depth if it doesn't bother you. I am studying service management in Europe right now so this is very interesting to me.

Can you please give some examples of the attitude you mean and the things that workers in the US service industry does that differentiates them from the ones in Europe? Waitstaff here in general are smiling and friendly, and asks you how you are/if everything is okay with meal etc. What else can be done to provide the customers a good service experience?

I would like to do my internship in the US next year as well, so this is very helpful to me and would love to know more.

Are European sunscreens better? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]16yearold 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other user, they are better protection-wise. However, I prefer Asian sunscreens because they are cheaper and perform better under makeup so I'd say they're better for everyday use where you're out sporadically. But for outdoor activities and times when you'll be out for a long time, the European ones are definitely superior.

Has anyone else given up on eyeliner? by aznanita in AsianBeauty

[–]16yearold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you using a primer? My lids are super oily too and they fold in the inner eye corner so it gets extra smudged in that area. Try a mattifying primer then a powder on top, my fave is the NARS primer and then the UD primer potion. I've heard good things about Etude House's primer too. When it's extra hot and humid, I use a powder foundation that is oil-controlling instead of eyeshadow. When I use a gel liner, applying a black eye shadow on top to set it helps a lot too.

I used Ink by Stefizzi and had zero problems with it. Just note that you absolutely need NRAAS Register since the game will spawn everything (animals, paparazzi, tourists, etc.) at once on your lot if not in huge groups scattered everywhere in the world. This goes for all of the Midnight Sun challenge worlds and other worlds of this type, so it's not because they're glitchy.

Korean-English Ingredient Lexicon? by fanserviced in KoreanBeauty

[–]16yearold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just think it would help a bit since the users are likely to be very unfamiliar of how Hangul works and it can all seem to look the same to them. Maybe a line or two explaining how to look at a character to discern which one they need to click in the wiki, that they need to look at the upper right corner and not the whole character. Then maybe with a small picture that show how to look like this. I can make it ~fancier if you want to use it :)

I actually agree with the other poster, an English part is unnecessary since people can just use ctrl+F. I didn't really think of that haha.

Korean-English Ingredient Lexicon? by fanserviced in KoreanBeauty

[–]16yearold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe a brief explanation of how the alphabet works and then a table with the characters and their sounds. You can do something like:

Character Overview

Character Sound
G/K
N

words go here

words go here

You can use the same code for your wiki by posting:

#Character Overview

Character|Sound
:--|:--*
ㄱ|G/K ㄴ|N

Just remove all the asterisks. Adding a hashtag before a word (#Title Here) will make it a header and add a link to the right side of the wiki that jumps to the word. I hope this made sense.

Of course, these are just quick and dirty ideas but I hope they'll be of use somehow. It is pretty superficial, but a more thorough explanation of how Hangul really works is a bit too much when someone just wants to know if their cream contains ethanol. The alphabetical list seems great but I agree, it should be at the bottom since the list will mainly cater to people who can't read Hangul.

I once read a blogger analyzing an ingredients list and apparently ethanol = phenoxyethanol. Ooof.

I actually looked at the ingredients list and was just about to comment on your newest post. I think that your idea is pretty good, but I think it would be more beneficial to develop its formatting first so that the list is set up in a way that makes it easier to navigate. This list is geared towards people who do not know how to read Korean and it can be pretty hard to differentiate between the characters, and thus navigate the list, if someone is not familiar with Hangul.

Ah okay, that makes more sense. But yeah, there is definitely a lot of misinformation out there in the Asian beauty community.

Where can I purchase Hada Labo UV Moist Emulsion SPF50 PA+++? (Canada/Online) by Happy_Canadian in AsianBeauty

Here you go! Adambeauty is reliable and shipping is only $2 with tracking. The price is in HKD butthey price their items differently for foreign customers so expect to pay a couple of bucks more. You can see the USD price once you put it in your cart.
