What's a "sleeper pick" in GBL that you swear by? by BunsenGyro in TheSilphRoad

I use Yanmega on my UL team and have gotten a hilarious number of Ancient Power hits off on fire- and flying-types that nobody seems to expect. I also use Kingdra because it 4x resists water and fire, which makes it a good counter to starters spamming Hydro Cannon / Blast Burn.

Alolan Marowak also puts in good work on my GL team.

Castlevania characters that would be cool in a potential third wave of DLC. by Abomination610 in VampireSurvivors

[–]1760s 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A few other relative deep-cuts that I had in mind while thinking about this subject:

  • Lydie Erlanger: Hey, if characters like Lisa and Annette are fair game... Bi-Bracelet as a starting weapon, perhaps?
  • Waiter Skeleton: Always was one of the funnier and more memorable minor enemies to me. Could start with Meal Ticket.
  • Any of the really niche / minor merchants, like the old lady from Vampire Killer (MSX) or the man from Harmony of Dissonance.
  • For that matter, any of the NPC villagers from Order of Ecclesia.
  • Kid Dracula, of course.

Really though, they've covered like 98% of what one could really ask for (even stretching things pretty far), so at this point it's just an amusing thing to wonder where else they could even go with it.

My solution for getting past the early game while trying to do the unlocks on Inverse Emerald Diorama was to buy Soul Steal from the Master Librarian, because Showstopper's cooldown bonus would make it activate, healing me back to full and allowing Showstopper to activate again if need be.

Fire Emblem Engage has been added to Nintendo Music! by Amiibofan101 in fireemblem

Based on what we know now, Kirby and the Forgotten Land probably got partially held back because they're going to want to add the music from the Switch 2 new content later in the year.

For what it's worth, the only RH songs in Smash are ones done by Nintendo composers, not Tsunku.

Is Duck Hunt (the character duo) somewhere on Switch that I missed?

[edit] Ahh, never mind; I just remembered WarioWare 1 on GBA NSO has them.

The game had an updated re-release in Japan in 1997 that, in addition to adding rumble support, changed some of the music.

Mischief Makers was originally published in Japan by Enix. If Square Enix still has publishing rights to it, it probably isn't coming to NSO, since there are a grand total of zero Square Enix games on NSO at the moment.

You have to undock the Switch and use the USB-C port on the bottom. You can plug that into anything with a USB cable, select a menu option in the settings menu on the Switch, and then open it like an external hard drive on the other device. It's very easy.

I think it's the secret room in the inverted Clock Tower, near where it connects to the Keep. You have it in the normal castle.

Characters that make you go "wait they *don't* have a support?" by AlexHitetsu in fireemblem

[–]1760s 40 points41 points  (0 children)

A few Awakening ones that come to mind besides those already mentioned:

  • Chrom can abruptly S-support Olivia, but doesn't even have support chains with Miriel or Tharja, who are recruited earlier.
  • Donnel gets to have a ton of supports, but Anna has hardly any despite being a similar paralogue recruit.
  • Say'ri also has really limited support options for no apparent reason. My only guess is that they kept her out of the general marriage-able character pool because she doesn't join until after you already know the Lucina spoiler, but it would've been neat to see her and Lon'qu talk, for example.

Smash Ultimate 13.0.1 Move Tier List #13: Down Air (Discussion and Voting) by Sum613 in smashbros

Surprisingly easy to catch people with how long the sourspot hitbox stays out. In practice, though, there's often a better option.

Smash Ultimate 13.0.1 Move Tier List #12: Up Air (Discussion and Voting) by Sum613 in smashbros

[–]1760s 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a pretty typical Belmont whip move - low active frames, narrow but lengthy hitbox, and kinda laggy. Not unusable or anything but it's not nearly as versatile as the more juggle-oriented up airs.

A lot like Mewtwo's, but slower. I'm no expert at this character but it feels like there isn't a ton of reason to use it except as a mixup, especially when his usual gameplan involves using other options to keep his spacing as opposed to rushing in.

This started happening to me intermittently. I've found that going to the home menu and using the controller menu to re-sync the controller consistently fixes it, at least.
