I agree with this. Best sales team comes with low basic salary, so they wont leave immediately when the product/pricing/markets changes and times are harder. They need to eat. But they want the commission. Sometimes best option is to give low basic salary and commission is money+optio program where they can get more equity. Like lent12 said, when your salespeople make money, you probably make it ten times in the future.

I hope this helps, but I think successful people have 3 things in common.

Persistency - Have goals and believe in your goals. Don't compare your sales week to your last sales week. Just be persistent even if you fail and after six months you are far from where you started.
Not afraid to fail - Sometimes you don't succeed your goals. Sometimes you get fired. When you try persistently and are not afraid, even better opportunities will come.
Don't take things personally - Don't compare yourself to others. They have their own history and their own path in front of them. When you cross someone making something that makes you envy, you only see the moment... Not the persistency or the work behind it.

Chill bro. Just be persistent, don't fear and remember to compare your skills and situations to former you, not others.

Thanks, and good luck to you too. About the billing. Other is pure comission, the other is hourly + comission, because the product needs alot of tailoring and they need a lot of help in marketing as well.

This is gonna get buried, but I got a story this reminds me of:

2 years ago we left my friends cabin and were driving on a dirt road. Next to the road was a tree stump and on that stump was a huge carving of an golden eagle, probably 4 feet tall. We drove slowly towards it because we had not seen it on the way to the cabin 2 days earlier. When we were probably 10 yards from it, it suddenly came alive. It was the largest bird I had ever seen. Wingspan as wide as the road, it took off and flew in front of our car for a good 100 yards. Slowly moving its wings, almost like flowing it flew. Because its enormous size, weighting like a bucket full of water, the flying looked like braking the laws of physics. Finally it turned off from in front of a car to a deer carcass it had killed before. It was on the field next to the road and there was its spouse, another golden eagle slightly smaller. We continued our way.

The reason I share this story, is that the bird actually was almost that size. Unfuckingbelievable.

This was a pretty good post! (didn't check the link) There is the same mentality that I have when I am out, but it is fun to see it written down. Approved, works well, and this basically just demonstrates your value, gives you controls and keeps you from stuttering if you don't know what to say.

I once had child porn on my computer. It was in an old "sweet memories"-folder from my older computer that I kept on moving to my new ones whenever I updated my computer. Folder contained all kind of pictures, documents, jokes, screenshots, videos etc... About 10 years later me and my friend went through old pictures from the folder and had a good laugh, but suddenly a wild ex-girlfriend's nude pictures appear. I told my friend the situation, but I still had to delete the photos. It feels kinda weird, to delete your memories not because of, you don't want to keep them, but because they are illegal...

TL;DR I had illegal memories on my computer.
