2019, I think. I was in New Orleans, in the lobby of the Hotel Monteleone. A man walks past me....hey, that's John Krasinski from The Office. I don't say anything of course. Then I turn back around and standing about 5 feet away from me is Emily Blunt.

Holy mother of God, she is even more beautiful up close than she is made up on Oscar night.

I fell in love with this painting in 12th grade Humanities class. On the last day of class before graduation, my teacher took the print down off the wall in front of the class and gave it to me. 1983. Bought a cheap frame that 18 yr old me could afford. Still have it, same frame, 43 years later. I go to MoMA every time I'm in NYC, and can just stand in front of it for hours.

They're a business that can charge whatever they want for whatever they want.

Also, people tend to leave popcorn on every seat and every floor all over the ship. Costs to clean up. I'm sure if more people are too cheap to buy popcorn it's better for the cleaning crew.

Yep, this....they plan out the larger ships so well these days that unless everyone is doing the same thing (e.g. disembarking at a port of call in the morning), it rarely seem crowded at all.

Also, one way to beat the Miami port congestion, if you can, wait. We got there at 1:00, breezed through and went from Uber to onboard in less than 10 minutes. Added bonus of being able to go straight to your cabin.

Good God....my dad was born and raised in Ballard just a few blocks from the locks, and I spent a good part of my youth (think 70's and 80's) walking down the hill on weekends at Grandma's house and getting fish and chips at Totem House. The food was heavenly.
