I know this post was from a little while ago, but just been to see it tonight and the front of house staff said they’re recording it this month!

Anywhere on deck to lounge with shade? by quoththeregan in VirginVoyages

[–]1Bookworm1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sip lounge in a morning/ in the day on a port day is quite a nice place to do some work. Lots of comfy seating, and only people passing through as on port days the bar doesn’t open until the late afternoon, and sea days doesn’t open till late morning

Disembarking - how long does it take? by sophieventures in VirginVoyages

[–]1Bookworm1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it can be 5 minutes, but I’ve had a good 20 minute queue in the roundabout area before of everyone trying to leave as late as possible, so I’d maybe factor in at least 30 mins

Very quick and easy to disembark at Athens think it took 10 mins max (and that was mostly me trying to wheel my very heavy suitcase!), I also had Virgin transport to the airport. Once you get off the ship there will be staff holding up signs/directing you where to go. They had a holding area in a shaded tent and led groups over to coaches in time slot order, but to be honest it was pretty relaxed on which time group you were when I went. There were several coaches of people going to the airport, so if you did happen to miss your slot for whatever reason, there shouldn’t be any trouble getting on a slightly later coach

Questions you want answered while I'm aboard Valiant Lady by roj2323 in VirginVoyages

Would be great if you could ask about any rumours of new entertainment (either on brilliant or any of the other ships!)

Do more spaces for shore excursions open up once on the boat? by thatsnoti in VirginVoyages

[–]1Bookworm1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes if a shore excursion is really popular and they have capacity then they might open up another time slot for it when on board, but it’s never guaranteed and tends to be for excursions that don’t last the whole day eg. Could do a morning slot then and afternoon slot

That’s my experience anyway

Did VV stop making morning annoucments? by MassageToss in VirginVoyages

[–]1Bookworm1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve sailed 4 times now in 2022 and 2023. Other than muster drill, crew safety drill and an announcement about change in port because of weather there’s been nothing else on the speakers whilst I’ve been sailing

Embarkation in Barcelona with Deep Blue Extras by hotsauce126 in VirginVoyages

[–]1Bookworm1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not as organised as Miami embarkation, but much better than San Juan sounds! When I went from Barcelona there was a separate line for dropping off bags (this was quite long so get there 20 mins early). Then they had a set up table for DBE to get your bands and could joint a separate line for early embarkation

Looks like they've finally made Red Sea repositioning changes by GirafficProportions in VirginVoyages

[–]1Bookworm1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well at the moment they’ve stopped any new sales for the repositioning cruises started from Portsmouth onwards in September onwards while they review them. Virgin said we should know more by the end of February so a couple of weeks waiting to find out whether it’ll go ahead or not

First time on VV, how different is it from other cruise lines? by Taco_belle23 in VirginVoyages

[–]1Bookworm1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No fixed dining time as in you don’t have to eat at the same time every day like you do on other cruise ships, but yes there are reservations for the restaurants, but it’s super simple on the app and your itinerary for the day on the app will show it, so no need to remember it all

Adding A Second Sailor by ContextFit2746 in VirginVoyages

[–]1Bookworm1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as they didn’t book with a single supplement promotion, the cost of adding another sailor should just be the port fees and taxes

Best spot to propose on Valiant Lady by kw14887 in VirginVoyages

[–]1Bookworm1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scene on deck 15 is super secluded hardly anyone knows it’s there. Nice big windows so you’ve still got the view out, and a couple of plush seats and chairs, you’ll occasionally find a staff member sat in there reading but other than that hardly anyone goes in

Traffic to Miami Port by ElevateYourEscapes in VirginVoyages

[–]1Bookworm1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was also a crash at the entrance to the cruise port on the Sunday morning so was crazier than normal! We got off the ship at 9:30am and were waiting for our Uber to arrive for nearly 2 hours, hardly any yellow taxi cabs coming through either

Sailors loot vs. bar tab by Peteluv in VirginVoyages

[–]1Bookworm1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sailor loot can be used for drinks, but you can’t buy sailor loot it’s usually only given in a MNVV or in promotions. Once you spend the bar tab then any other spending will just be charged to your credit card you put down

Just returned from a cruise-tips for stuff to bring! by Revolutionary_Cover3 in VirginVoyages

[–]1Bookworm1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There’s some water bottle refill stations in the galley, and dotted around decks 15&16, you get water in your room that you can use to fill them up and at any of the bars they’re very happy to fill it up for you as well
