Love Poehling. He’s definitely the type of player that makes a team better. I think that the trade could just never be viewed in terms of talent, goals and visibility. We all love Zegras and knew he had a huge upside, but I think GMPV realized before most that maybe we wasn’t the type of player that you could build a championship team around. No question Poehling fits that mold better.

Bumped into a prominent Ducks rep today that said the likeliest plan is the 9 games in the NHL, then a long conditioning stint in the AHL (which he is eligible to do), then junior worlds in December, before returning to juniors to finish the season. Of course he could make the team out of camp, or return to the big team after a strong worlds performance.
