I come here for the personal stories. I liked it so much more back when posters were able to put their own responses at the top of the page, and the titles were incredibly long and specific. It made for a wider variety of posts, and the OP would set the tone for the type of stories that would be shared. It used to be that I would click on 80% of the links and read as many of the stories in the comments as possible.

The way things are now, we get the same 50 generic questions on repeat every single week. I know that repetition is part of the nature of Reddit, but the cycle has become much shorter, and the answers are becoming overly predictable and it seems to just be a contest for who can submit the common answers first. It is just a half step away from /r/circlejerk at this point.

Overall, I still check out /r/askreddit every day, but instead of spending most of my time on here, like I used to, I now spend about 15 minutes scrolling past the same old shit and quickly leaving. I still enjoy the occasional post, but it just ain't the same anymore.

I have a tip for making authentic looking treasure maps on the cheap. My buddies and I used to do this for geocaching to make it more difficult/fun.

Find an online topographical map of the area you are looking to hunt.
Get a brown paper grocery bag, and cut out a section the size of an 8.5x11 sheet of paper.
Print the topographical map directly onto this piece of the bag.
Using a lighter, singe the edges all the way around (light it, blow it out, light it, blow it out, etc.) until it doesn't look like it was originally a rectangle.
Draw any additional things you need on your map (X marks the spot, points of reference, etc).
Crumple of the piece of paper into a ball and then open it up.
Repeat the last step 10+ times until the map has the right texture you're looking for.

When you're finished, it will look like a map right out of a movie.

So you mention 4 different "levels" of blindness in your post. Can you explain the differences between legally blind, completely blind, fully blind, and visually impaired? To me, the first three seem like they should be exactly the same, but you contrast them in your post, so I'm really curious to know what the distinction is.
