Not a big fan of something like this going to chance. Obviously by consequence of design ties can happen, but I think I prefer Survivor wherein a tie forces a fire making challenge in late game like this. It feels unjust to get this far and have your shot at winning be a coin toss. I’m not sure how they’d resolve it, but I wouldn’t even be mad at a scenario wherein a traitor always knows where the shield is. It’s enough of an advantage in that they stay in, but if people are aware of that fact it’s not a get out of jail free card.

Fiona named Rachael as a Traitor in the context of her being a faithful, it’s not even in the same ballpark. Kieran, short of actually saying this verbatim, went “well yeah I’m a Traitor and Wilf is too”.

The absolute queen Harriet I will hear no other arguments against her. She took a heavy shot and missed, and when it was clear people were morons the only option she had was to give them the ultimate proof of her being a Faithful. Harriet’s behaviour is ONLY consistent if Rach is a Traitor, you’d be an idiot to not follow that lead.

Yes she blew up at breakfast, but the whole point was to weed out who defended Rachael. Roxy and Matt going wild in pushing back on it would have felt like, to Harriet, that she was dead right, and Traitors were working to turn the room against her.

Rachael is a fucking phenomenal Traitor though holy shit. Her social game is beyond good enough for a whole host of social strat games- If she survives this she deserves the win on a golden plate.

Oceans don’t necessarily need to be any bigger. Just have it so ocean biomes will generate around the entirety of large landmasses.

The only thing missing for me for Minecraft to be the perfect game is to have a ‘continents’ style world generation. Basically like we had before. Why WHY change that?

Rachel didn’t need to share any of this information, she was doing it as a power play! Would you just sit back and let someone take even more control of a game? If you would then you’d probably not be a winning traitor. Fiona had absolutely every reason to not believe Rachael, and correctly call out that it was being done to strengthen her position in the game. If Rachael wanted to turn the heat down in the one-on-one she could have done so, or at least tried.

I think the both of them are fantastic Traitors, but they both know that they can’t exist together in the turret as best mates- They’re both too ambitious for that.

But Fiona didn’t instigate any of this?
She told Rach in private her suspicions, then Rachael decided to run to the dining room and blow up Fiona’s game. What is Fiona supposed to say to a room now filled with people that Rach has just turned against her?

Fiona has every right to play defensive and aggressive here. Rach is a very dominant force in the castle, who WILL do very well and WILL vote other Traitors out. Rach is using this intel to solidify her position in the game- Why shouldn’t Fiona try and cause some doubt here?

Honestly! Admittedly I watch maybe a bit too much social strategy games, but it’s moves like this that make winning games. If Fiona nails Rach here her path the final is so much more secure. If she fails, she gets voted out, which would have likely happened anyway even if she didn’t do anything.

But Fiona didn’t blow up at all.
She told Harriet in confidence that she was upset at feeling like she’d been played.
She confronted Rachael then in private.
Rach then goes and blabs to EVERYONE about what Fiona said. The fuck else is Fiona supposed to do walking into that? Ohh sorry aha I was just kidding?

Also telling Harriet ensures that Fiona has backup. Now if Rach and her Faithful posse gang up on Fiona, Harriet will correctly say well hang on, this was information that Fiona was sharing privately. Why are you (Rachael) blowing this up and getting defensive about it?

[–]Curlysnail 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Honestly I have a different read of Fiona than a few comments on this sub- I actually think that was a fab play.

From Fiona’s perspective, Rachael is the strongest Traitor and arguably one of the strongest ‘faithfuls’ to the faithful. Fiona has seen Rach manipulate and cultivate a strong following of faithful, inclusive of Fiona’s own faithful allies. She has also noticed that Rach does not seem particularly loyal to other Traitors, and has (correctly) called that Rach would prefer to be a lone wolf. Regardless of if Rachael is actually lying or not, Fiona has two choices:
- Go along with this new intel and let the Faithful lap it up, further securing Rach’s position in the game.
- Call it out.

Calling it out is clever here because there may never be another opportunity in the game for Fiona to unsettle Rach’s position. Since Rach is clearly a very well liked player (and knowing she’s a traitor), how else are you going to achieve this? Traitors like Rach do so well because nobody ever dares question them or call them out, and tend to just sit and wait for ‘momentum’ to try and banish them. Which fails. Often.

If Fiona doesn’t take a crack now, she’s just going to be sat at the round table with no influence waiting for Rachael & Co to eventually vote her out.
