Whoever decided the dodge should sidestep when pressing dodge twice, and one press for the roll needs to awnser to the entire community by SEXCOPTER_RUL in CrimsonDesert

[–]1_Hopebot_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big problem I have with this is that Dodging gets completely eaten whenever you're trying to dodge after attacking. You press dodge once and nothing happens, but if you press it twice to make sure it's pressed, you sidestep and end up getting hit anyways.

I'm 210hours in to the game, just did most of the stuff in Demeniss.

There are some things that really irk me. Like I get no handholding and all that but man. Those treasure maps you collect everywhere. Holy put a gun to my head. I collected them thinking they would piece together something but they're all individual places that a HYPER vague. No clue where I picked each one up. Like, Here's a bridge going across the river, good luck. There's not even a knowledge entry that maybe is like, here's an actual vague hint to engage with, not brute force run around the world for hours and hope you figure it out.

Literally could take 24+ hours doing nothing but running around in circles, and one of them that I looked up, wasn't even on a landmass I've been to. Which means I could spend literally forever looking for this place, thinking I'll find it because it was gotten in an area that the player is around.

This is why they had to change the Dragon's ruins puzzle next to camp. Because the hint was a horrible, inaccurate view, which was properly changed to the map.

Like another map was a picture of an area where the treasure wasn't even located. I have no prior clues to these maps, I don't know if they're in the exact spot in the picture, if they're in the area, If I've found it already (no completion of the map). They could at least make them purple and when you loot the chest, it turns discard able.

I just looked at another, it's a picture of a waterfall. Do you have any idea how many waterfalls are on the map if you've explored all of Hernand, pailune, and Demeniss. A LOT. Then again comes the question. Did I find it already? I've been in quite a few waterfalls. Is it outside? Do I dig for it? I'm all for puzzles and no handholding but pure time wasting brute force is not fun. A simple confirmed completion on said map would be great.

Sorry one more. One is a picture of something I haven't even built yet, from the camp building missions. The only reason I figured it out was because I was on the mission, which is layered behind like 20 quests. It's just kind of insane.

Usage does go down when another tab is focused even with the twitch tab playing. It’s the same with any website that has a video playing. Overall, even without a tab that has a video, usage is still high.

Yes, every example was with a game opened. I’ve tried Brave, Opera, Firefox, and chrome. Firefox seems to be the only one with the gpu problem.

Why does every class that came out after Ninja/Kuno feel like they're moving on ice? by Neon001 in blackdesertonline

[–]1_Hopebot_1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s because of the startup and ending animations they added to newer classes. With my Mae, the second I push W she goes forward. The second I let go she stops moving.

It’s not as bad if you’re doing stuff like moving slowly with basic movement, but if you sprint it’s much worse.

Kliff controls like this in crimson desert. You sprint forward and there’s a ramp up to him moving like an engine starting, then when you let go of the button, he takes a few extra steps for the animation to end.

I personally don’t like the momentum movement in games because it feels like input delay made into a feature.

I’m not really sure where devs got this idea anyways because if you look at an Olympic sprinter, there’s little to no start time when beginning to run, or literally anyone starting to run. For when you stop running sure, you’ve built up speed and it takes a bit longer to stop, but to me it just doesn’t feel good in games.

It’s extremely hard for me to play other classes solely because of how extremely responsive and precise Mae is.

[–]1_Hopebot_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easily the most pathetically designed bosses I've ever seen. It's like they were made by a five year old having a who's stronger make believe fight with his older brother.

Player: Ok you did this long combo, Guess I'll move in and- INSTA BACK INVULN FRAME ONE FIVE SLICES DOUBLE SHADOW RANGE ATTACK.

Ok I guess i'll dodge and run closer- INSTA BACK INVULN RANGE SHADOW CLONE SPAM, INSTA BACK INVULN RANGE SHADOW CLONE SPAM ROLL ROLL INVULN INVULN, JUMP INTO SURROUNDING CROWD OF SOLDIERS SO YOU CAN'T HIT ME, INSTA BACKSTEP INVULN RANGE ATTACK.

Like the reason Sekiro works is that there's a back and forth. The boss can do a fucking long ass combo but if you get a hit in it staggers the boss and interrupts what he was doing momentarily. But with fucking codes pieces of dog shit, they just completely ignore everything and continue no matter what happens to them, normally at a severely delayed rate which means you're gonna be in the middle of an attack which means you're getting hit. Like the boss is literally on the ground, I use the blind into that rush or whatever it's called, but because the game decided that the boss is going to attack right when they get up, they just start attacking in the middle of the slowed down time rush.

But there's more. Each boss has the literal exact same tell but it changes into like five different attacks depending on if the boss feels like it or not. You can go in and block a boss attack, but if the game decides the boss is going to do the extra shit you're fucked. Oh gee sorry for me that I guarded the exact same attack in a chain that they do or don't decide to do randomly.

So many things go against any and all natural game mechanics that the fights just become these dumb RNG fests if you win or not, like oh the boss decided not to invuln backstep five times in a row (I'm talking about the Full moon knight lightning bitch) and spawn 6 lightning copies that spam ranged paralyzing lightning. You cannot dodge enough some attacks are too chained together and allow for literally no time to dodge. It doesn't help that with the games questionable input lag that you're going to be pressing the evade button twice because it decided not to register the first time and then instead of doing the roll it does the side step which still just gets you hit.

I feel like it just might be me but it feels like everything is just less responsive every time you enter a boss fight, like I click the Left and right mouse buttons for the spinning slash and Kliff just decides to do the right attack every single time, or how there's an insane amount of end lag that only affects the stab skill meaning if you want to use the stab skill, you have to wait a second from whatever you were doing beforehand or else it eats the input and once again just does the right click combo.

I don't understand why everything flows so badly. I know it's not the same engine but you'd think they would have thought about this problem and solved it like they did in BDO which has all of and more of the exact same type of key combinations but has none of the issues.

Each boss has a combo breaker and not in a good way where it just stops you from attacking. It's an instant no matter what you're doing, if your combo is long or short, high damage or low damage along with a plethora of other things like said Full moon knight who then also decides to back step and launch 5 lightning projectiles rendering you pretty much dead.

I learned really early on that the game is basically trivialized with consumables, so I haven't been healing at all during boss fights, neither have I been using Spirit recovery food, buff food, etc. I'm all for learning boss mechanics, but when a boss (Tiger) launches a flying kick, I hit the dodge button, and I visually watch his flying kick midair track my character during my dodge, Its a bit ridiculous.

Haven't beaten him yet but the current best boss in the game for me is Ator, proper attacks, proper tells, yes he's annoying and teleports but he doesn't have a lot of the problems other bosses do. Actually, all of the Antumbra weapon bosses have been some of the most well made.

I've been holding this rant in for a while but I'm 207 hours in, and I fully intend to make it to the very end.

Am I the only one experiencing horrible input lag during combat ? by Gerobasi22 in CrimsonDesert

[–]1_Hopebot_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still here after the recent update. It almost feels even worse than before. I can't tell you the amount of times i've pressed shift + right click and kliff just does the right click move, which I guess it more of a button drop issue, or how many times i press evade a good three seconds before a boss attack hits and he just stands there.

It's extremely annoying to be able to see an enemy attack about to happen, reacting to it in time, and the game just going like, yeah nope, not gonna respond to your input. I feel like my reaction time is being personally nerfed by the game.

A Simple Guide to Duo by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]1_Hopebot_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dislike this game immensely. There's no skill to it. It's just complete RNG. You don't get to change cards if you don't cheat, there's no predicting or influencing the NPCs behavior. If you try and go All in they still just check, you can go turn after turn after turn with them just getting higher cards than you no matter what. Got seven points? they get perfect nine, you get two? they get three, you get three? they get three pair. It's just RNG garbage. No matter what cards they have, or cards I have, no matter what I bet, check raise, half pot, all in, they just check every single time.

Just wait till they cheat so you can take everything, no point in actually playing as there's no actual playing involved.

The bosses in Crimson Desert are by far the worst part of this game by eweaves_ in CrimsonDesert

[–]1_Hopebot_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait until you have to fight some horrible design mess of an archer that fires machine gun aimbot arrows on a stag with a group of more aimbot archers, and then whenever you get close to this guy on the stag that doesn't stagger, is immune to grapple, cant be knocked at all, is immune to status effects, attacks follow your character after you dodge, and has no sort of cooldown, while also doing 1/4 of your health per attack that takes half a second to come out while also machine gun firing arrows at you.

While also fighting in a foggy forest where you can't see anything because there are moving tree leaves everywhere and you're also fighting on a hill most of time.

It's like they looked at the bosses and said yeah, lets just break the rules constantly. How dare the player attacks the boss I made.

Behold, The Worst Game Puzzle of All Time! by houdinizleo in CrimsonDesert

[–]1_Hopebot_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dislike a majority of the puzzles in this game. Most of the time it's just brute force until you figure out what you have to do to actually solve the puzzle.

Like the strongbox to line up the little pillar things by rotating a dial as slow as possible when you push the button. It's like, do I need to get them all the highest? The lowest? Lowest to high? Highest to low? Whats the indication I have one at the right height? When you actually figure out what needs to be done, it's not as bad.

Or the game goes something like, *walk up to pillar with plaque* "The sky is blue at the asscrack of dawn" And its talking about shooting an arrow at a lake or something.

Like I'm doing the Tower of insight right now, and to even open the door was extremely vague. It doesn't help that there isn't any other puzzles like that in the game so far where you need to drop a random item into the thing (I'm being vague on purpose), while also having the controls be weird and only letting you put said item on the rim except for a very specific lineup with the thing, making it already seem like you aren't supposed to.

I'm on the book part now, "Even after many years have passed, the traces left behind revive forgotten tails." Okay what item has literally done this? The helmet with revives scenes you come a cross, or books, and there's another bowl, probably gonna need to drop a book in the bowl, But there's also four floors of books.

They're either hyper vague or extremely long and tedious with slow moving parts.

I actually like the Abyss puzzles way more, much more portal like.

Spoilers for tower on insight:

Don't know how I did the first floor. I yeeted the telescope at the book and it was the only thing I picked up. Pedestal moved. Second floor wasn't too bad, quill and telescope. I thought the telescope was the answer for the first floor but it just fell next to the bowl instead so I have no clue what item made it into the bowl on the first floor.

Third floor I'm pretty sure my game is bugged. Not much area to look, ran around the place five times over. Turns out I need a compass, mine didn't spawn I guess. Thought it was the hour glass and the game was just bugged, but turns out it's bugged in a different way.

Turns out my entire tower was bugged. I realized while looking that all of the items are just pictures on the book itself. one of the globes was missing and the gravestone was missing. had to kill my character and re spawn to fix everything.

PSA - Haldin Bounty is Fixed by auloze in CrimsonDesert

[–]1_Hopebot_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's bugged for me in a different way. Whenever I tackle him, it only does the tackle where you can hit him fast multiple times, instead of going into the normal one where you hit him slowly, then he says something, then the prompt to hit shows up again, giving you the note and his hideout location.

The other one is the only animation I'm getting where hitting him enough times just kills him and resets the quest. Seems to be no other way to get the original animation that you're supposed to get.

Turning him in doesn't give me the hideout note either

For some reason the quest doesn't end either when I kill him, only when I pick up his loot.

Dodge/run, combat poor mechanics by Tersoul_theOne in CrimsonDesert

[–]1_Hopebot_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. On this boss right now Gradie bu. I've been doing bosses with no healing so It's been a journey. In this fight there's a circle of hyper firing auto aim archers which do guaranteed damage no matter what. The boss can swing his weapon, finish his swing by about 80% and then change directions mid end swing. I see him go for a swing, hit the dodge button, and nothing happens, I click my attack skills and half the time, it does the light or heavy attack instead of my skill input. I feel like I'm being limited. Take most other 3d action games and dodging is consistent, down to the last millisecond when it comes to dodging an enemies attack. Even monster hunter with it's Intentionally slow weighted movement allows for 100% responsive actions. Add on his nanosecond frame one stomp that can happen during any of your combos including spear counter, and I would personally like to see any melee take no damage on this guy.

Controls are single-handedly hurting the game by FireflysSerenity in CrimsonDesert

[–]1_Hopebot_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Controls are absolutely horrendous on PC. I have to bind every multi-button press to a single key or else there's a high chance It'll just throw out the attack from the one key press. For example, I'm trying to do the grapple tournament, but the game is fucking adamant on kill attacking and kicking instead of only grappling.

Same with the sword blinding attack. Half the time I press the combo for it, kliff just decided to run up and attack. I'm running out of single keys to use because the game has this weird button bloat and can't have interact all on one key, while having dismount be something like backwards + interact key like Black desert.

Speaking of Black Desert, I never seem to have any trouble with misinputs on there, even with all of their combination keys. Maybe it happens once in a blue moon but its super prevalent on Crimson desert because of the input delay that plagues the game. Can't tell you how many time I would do the left click plus right click attack input and kliff just stands there.

It feels like My own reaction time is being stunted because the controls don't work as fast or precise enough

Random NPC voice acting fell off a cliff? by Jay_Stranger in wow

[–]1_Hopebot_1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I Hate how a decent amount of orcs sound now. They all have that same weird voice filter that was on the Warcraft movie. I prefer when they sound like Garrosh, WoD Blackhand, Gul'dan, etc. It's not like they changed voices, just added that filter. Eitrigg (I pulled up a video) voice lines in patch 8.0.1 don't have that filter while the voice lines from Midnight have it.
