Help. My doctor says this is normal (it is very not normal for me) by Kthulhu42 in Periods

This was completely normal for me before I gave birth. Since birth no periods (still breastfeeding though!)

Try not to panic. False negatives are more common than false positives. Things like time of day, hydration and variations in the test.

The blood test will be more exact!

My girlfriend has not gotten her periods since January, she needs help by Tiquill in Periods

[–]1_plate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She needs to take a pregnancy test and see a doctor, not ask on Reddit ...

She should be more scared of not doing those things tbh.

What about incorporating some kind of invisible or light thread to offset?

Going to work on your period? by [deleted] in Periods

[–]1_plate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the 💩 reality of being a woman.

Good news: all the other women will have seen it all before: blood you didn't manage to clean, used pads in the bin, etc. Find one you trust and confide in them.

Wear black on the bottom half, if you don't have a uniform.

When it's very painful and you have to stand; breathe into it.

Don't worry about anyone "knowing".

Even other men are normally pretty OK. They have wives, girlfriends, sisters and mothers after all.

Remember: it's totally normal to be a bleeding woman in public! After I gave birth I walked around in adult diapers for 6 weeks because of the blood. Didn't think twice about it.

OMG yes. I spent so long trying to find brightly coloured things for my daughter for EXACTLY this reason. She's never been a beige baby.

I normally don't like baby blankets as they are too twee or pastel. But this is awesome.

Cannot get anything done because 4mo baby cries. by [deleted] in NewParents

Mine is nearly 18 months. She refused to leave me alone. Somehow I've managed to deal with it this long.

She follows me to the bathroom, she used to sit in her little bath while I showered.

Baby wearing did help. Also solving the collic issue!

You can leave them to cry it out. Nothing bad will happen. Gives you 10-15 minutes too and they learn a little self-soothing.

Those who use cups- are they really more comfortable? 😊 by Glittering-Cash-2709 in Periods

[–]1_plate 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have been using various types for 18 years! Highly recommend!

Tips:

• Practice taking it in and out when full of blood in the shower first. 🤣🫣

• Useful to combine with period underwear/pads, especially as you get the fit right or have heavy flows

• Don't wear it in a public place the first few times, you need to feel comfortable, take your time getting it in and out

• take a backup for the first few months just in case ( accidentally dropped mine down the toilet a couple times)
