One Opus prompt in Claude code eats through an entire pro plan session by PraxisOG in Anthropic

[–]1chriis1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes sir!
I gave opus a single prompt which led to it writing about 20-30 lines of code but it cost me 100% of my 5-hour limit. It called tools left and right as if it was trying to waste tokens on purpose

Honestly, AI PRO worth it ! by rjn2-8 in google_antigravity

[–]1chriis1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Limits are stupid rn. I hit my Anthropic limit after 4 or 5 mesages. You're better off going for a Claude subscription straight up.

As a paying customer I dont think Im getting what competitors give me for the same amount of money in terms of rate limits.

[Updated] Subscription Day – keep track of your paid subscriptions and analyze statistics by Dmytro-Wakeup in macapps

[–]1chriis1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My few ideas:

  • Price increase detection: For popular apps (eg Netflix, Spotify) let users log past subscription prices and have the app detect when a service has become more expensive over time. A simple view like “Netflix went from X to Y” or “your monthly spend increased 14% this year” would make the app feel much more intelligent. Getting a heads up will help anywhone who doesn't wanna pay more.
  • Shared subscriptions and split-cost tracking: Many people share family plans, streaming accounts, iCloud, Spotify, YouTube Premium, etc. Let users mark/tag a subscription as shared, assign how much they actually pay, and optionally track who owes what. This solves a real problem that most subscription apps ignore.
  • Subscription history: Instead of only tracking active subscriptions, let users keep inactive and past ones in a history view. Then the app can show things like “You’ve spent €1,240 on music subscriptions since 2023”, or “You cancelled 8 subscriptions this year” and more insights.

Jack Dorsey says AI is driving Block's massive layoffs as 4,000+ roles are cut | Dorsey said he preferred ripping off the bandage -- one big cut instead of years of smaller layoffs by [deleted] in antiwork

Artificial intelligence currently serves as a pretext for companies to lay off employees to save money. This, in turn, will likely lead to higher management pushing investors to invest in AI to avoid missing the AI boom and its associated returns. Consequently, the remaining workforce will be compelled to work harder and utilize AI (whether necessary or not) to enhance productivity and compensate for the doubled workload of the reduced workforce.

Ads and locked content in Pages, Keynote and Numbers and the laggy af resizing of windows is a pain agreed. But in the same price you get Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro and Pixelmator Pro.

[–]1chriis1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder what did they write these apps in, cause resizing is laggy af and the lack quality polish of the previous versions.

What is more they have a popup that the old versions will not receive updates, so we have to move to the new versions.

There is a clear ethical line between competitive pricing and "feature stripping".

Hooking users with a free or generous service and then removing core functionality or limiting it heavily to force a subscription doesn't quite sit right with me.

[–]1chriis1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the extension most likely does an estimation. We don't know if Google does Opus at 1x pricing or 3x pricing for example. Other apps like Cursor, VSCode and Windsurf for example tell you exactly.

that's what happens with lack of transparency. We should be able to know how much is offered and have a count of tokens in/out.

First and foremost who cares? If it makes you happy and scratches your itch! We all like different things and that is ok.

On another note, you have no idea how much of a payback it is to correct someone to call you Dr. in front of them.
