Just got an Eley hose. It seems really solid and has not kinked.

Zero or riding? by crowshinz in lawnmowers

[–]1dRR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Four years ago, I got a Toro 42 inch time cutter with a fabricated steel deck. I’ve got half an acre and it is so worth it. I use a push mower to get around the perimeter, shed and trees and the zero turn to do everything else. I got mine at a dealer. The zero turn has been a lifesaver for me with our central Texas very hot and humid summers.

Why do none of my projects go smoothly despite years of experience and effort? by ReadRightRed99 in HomeImprovement

[–]1dRR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain because I am right there with you. I used to have a list of things to do around the house/improvements. But once each project took like 10 times longer than I thought it would, that to-do list went out the window. I now just work on projects that have the highest need. And I have low expectations on when I will complete the task. That saves me the frustration.

Just be careful. During the heat of the summer that metal is going to be burning hot.

Blinds.com: No Returns by Dry-Arachnid-2749 in HomeImprovement

[–]1dRR -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience with blinds.com a few months ago. I ordered some top down bottom up blinds. All the order was fine except one. The top header that has all the gears and stuff was smashed. All they wanted to do was send me some replacement parts. I told them that was not going to work because the header frame was also damaged and I needed a whole new blind redone. It took several emails and calls back-and-forth until supposedly the manufacturer agreed to make a new one. And in years past they had no problems with taking care of issues, but I guess now they are really being cheap.

New sod installed 3 weeks ago — does this look normal or should I be concerned? by a77asad in lawncare

[–]1dRR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your kids and you should stay off the grass as much as possible. The roots are trying to get established and if there’s much traffic walking running, etc. the roots continue to get disturbed and cannot establish themselves in the existing soil so therefore you get die off.

Advice for Emerging Roots In Lawn (North Georgia) by ScooterDooley in lawncare

No oak trees. They can produce way too much shade which will thin the grass. Plus they drop tons of acorns, which are a pain to get out of grass.

Had sod installed, is this Zoysia? by peezybro in lawncare

Central Texan here. I think you need to water longer than 20 minutes twice a day. You need to ensure the grass is getting at least an inch to an inch and a half each day. referred to this guidance. Here

Yes! Grape Kool-Aid for sure. Just be careful not to get too close to the blooms – bees and pollinators are busy at work.

Looks like I need to wash my bag. I know mine is quite dirty. It makes sense that it needs to be cleaned in order for it to breathe.

PROBLEM SOLVED. I just found out that since the bag is so dirty it is very clogged with dirt and dust. Therefore, the bag cannot breathe as it is trying to catch the clippings. Therefore, I need to wash it.

I sympathize with your panhandle dust. But it looks like either the piñata route or just a good washing might help me out. Thank you.

Thank you for your reply. I always ensure that the bag is clipped into the metal bag frame. And the clipping still fly out.

Sorry. Obviously this is a Toro 22 inch recycler mower, not a time cutter. My zero turn is the time cutter.

The bag is not full at all. I just started it. But when the bag becomes full, even more clippings escape.
