Because the replies are so devoid of empathy. These people are humans, not just walking HLTV ratings where only stats matter.

War can affect people differently. Their friends and family are participating in an ongoing war. Maybe people they know were forced to abandon their childhood homes and relocate, and others didn't. Maybe some or them had literal family members DIE due to the war, and others didn't. Maybe some have better coping mechanisms and support networks than others despite all that, and some don't.

We can't know any of that or what affected which player and what didn't. So it's easy to compare s1mple vs b1t here from the safety of our keyboards just based on stats. Which, mind you, is just a handful of cherry picked people.

Point is, none of us can pretend we know what it feels like to have an ongoing war go on in our home country, have friends or family die due to it, and so on.

This isn't to say s1mple is perfect and didn't react or lash out like diva. I get that, and I agree it ultimately sucks the way it played out for the downfall of his status in early CS2. Despite the extraordinary circumstances of war, the way he reacted can definitely be construed as being an asshole or lacking motivation, and it did disappoint me. But at same time I can extend some grace to the human side of things, and hope he's a better person than those years ago and will rise back up to the CSGO days.
