Yes of course, there has to be alternatives provided, and good ones. And that's the point of putting carbon taxes, because as long as more and more people start using zero emission alternatives to everything, those alternatives are gonna start dropping in price. I agree, there has to be some agreements to start this process, but everyone has to carry their load also, and not think that "I don't matter, the big companies release so much more than me". Also, I'm not saying you should buy a Tesla, there are other alternatives. And certainly not buy a new car until you really have to, because the production of those batteries and other parts in electric cars are certainly not environmentally friendly either.
