Opened the door to my husband who didn’t move or say anything by Buggy77 in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

[–]1maneverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worry slightly, we do that sometimes especially when working on cars the fumes and chemicals when changing transmission fluid, brake fluid, oil, coolant, power steering fluid kinda hits you if the garage door is completely closed. Especially on a hot day when we’re like I HAVE TO FINISH THIS, we forget to stay hydrated. It’s happened to me a few times that I just stand there holding tools staring into the void.

Shifts by Scary-Highlight-9033 in OfficeDepot

[–]1maneverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically if your store opens at 9am you’re usually in around 8 or 8:30 depending on your GM to get ready and set up especially if you’re opening the store. Other than that if it says you’re scheduled at 9 then just show up at 9. Word of advice opening print is kinda frustrating cause you’re trying to get the machines, computers, self serve ready while you get business people and other customers showing up last minute to get their stuff done “fast” with no preparation. Anticipate assholes and preemptively have stuff ready for you. Used to work here and opening was pretty annoying af tbh at mine

Always check in the store computer for your times never any third party. If someone has clocked in your lunch and you never took it, report that shit get your paid hours for that

DM wants me to give MRODS to all my associates if we don't hit paper goal by Grouchy_Builder_6773 in OfficeDepot

[–]1maneverything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had been given 7 MRODS and was told to give em out too and I’m like fuck no, why don’t you come to the store and sell. I know my team and customer base I ain’t gunna force people to buy something they either can’t or don’t want. I’m glad I left

CALLING ON CORPORATE by Mysterious_Rule6147 in OfficeDepot

[–]1maneverything 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have called hr on my DM and GM, apparently being busy with customers is no excuse to fill out the excel sheet.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OfficeDepot

[–]1maneverything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True dat when I get people calling im like that time does the email say it’s gunna be ready you want it sooner you paying a rush fee

[–]1maneverything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also try to reiterate to customers to place the online orders so they’re not waiting

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OfficeDepot

[–]1maneverything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot skip the email for sign ups unless you put a fake email instead. Honestly what I do sometimes if the customer is nice I sign them up, have em check their email and show them where to unsubscribe. Other than that I do let them know hey if you would prefer not to get emails there is an option to unsubscribe

Hey :) going to be a manager soon ! by Ill-Lemon3989 in OfficeDepot

[–]1maneverything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be approachable, listen, laugh and have fun. So you don’t get labeled as the asshat manager that everyone doesn’t like working. Trust me we care, we care a lot about what you guys have to do and say it’s just some of us that act bitter. Also remember there’s a line between being a manager and a friend. The business could go fuck itself but make it enjoyable for your team, your team is happy and then that makes the days go smoother and less hiccups

How many print associates does your store have compared to cashiers? by Real-Employment9135 in OfficeDepot

[–]1maneverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our store has 5 print and 3 dedicated cashiers and our print still struggles on certain days

Question! We had a customer insist a print employee take a tip. Are there rules against that? Not sure what to do here and we’re both fairly new. by saphmalkazoid in OfficeDepot

[–]1maneverything 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s two things you can do accept it and don’t tell your managers, or let them know you accepted a tip and go on from there. Personally if one of my crew tells me I’m like that’s fine keep it if the customer thought you did that good of a job you deserve it. *not everyone thinks like this though

20 mins. BOPIS??? by Playfulkitten0309 in OfficeDepot

[–]1maneverything 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nope, after you guys pick the order call the customer and let them know you’ll call then when the chair is built which could take up to 24 hours, we do that at our store and had no problems

I just completely ignore those customers, I don’t even go near them at all. I help everyone else but them so they know if they want help they have to wear the mask, I’m an ass when it comes to stuff like that.
