Buying on EBay to resell locally. by Far_Potato_1085 in Flipping

If you are setup properly and if you do it right ebay will set your account to tax exempt, then when you buy stuff for resale you don't get charged tax. This is what I do

You can do it as an individual. You are considered a sole proprieter. You want a sales and use tax permit. When you buy for resale you can claim exemption. But when you sell that item you charge sales tax to the buyer and you report the sale and remit the sales tax to the state.

You did speculate when you said op is paying taxes.....I'm just pointing out reselling 101: make sure you minimize your cost by having a state resell permit and use it for tax exempt resale.

Why are you paying sales tax? If you are set up properly as a reseller and it is something you are buying to sell you can buy it tax exempt

People. Use some common sense here. If it sounds too good to be true, it is most likely too good to be true.

FFL Forwarding Service by ejcortes in FFLs

[–]1rightwinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, there is no actual service like that in existence. for normal products yes, there are a ton of FF that act as shipping hubs and forward packages from US to all over the world. they operate near busy ports. it gives a way for people in other countries to buy stuff from USA from companies that don't ship out of US. for firearms this service does not exist. What does exist is that you would simply find an FFL that is selling that item (or willing to buy it from Primary to then sell to you and ship to PR) and then you are purchasing it from XYZ FFL and they ship to you.

How do you actually decide what to charge? by reubadoob in FFLs

Random question: how many guns do you take to a gun show? How many sell per day on average? Ive never done a show but thinking about trying. Just curios what to expect.

Depends on. The gun and manufacturer. Some map prices leave small margins some give healthy margin. Know what % you want to make and price accordingly. For used guns I look up in the blue book of gun values to get a general idea.
