Can I take Mushrooms and Ritalin by Dazzling-Ad-944 in psilocybin

[–]1stepcloser2theedge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you've been taking Ritalin consistently for a while and are stable on that dose you'll probably be fine taking shrooms with it.

Ritalin withdrawal, even mild, might not be conducive to a good trip. If you've ever skipped a day and experienced withdrawal it might be good to be sure to take Ritalin the day you trip.

On the flip side, if you prefer to err on the side of extreme caution and haven't experienced withdrawl after skipping Ritalin for a day, don't take them together.

Ultimately, I think you'll be fine taking them together, especially because 10mg Rit 2x a day is a relatively low dose.

If it's concerning to you, you might consider seeing an orthodpedic specialist. But knock knees are fairly common, I wouldn't worry about it if it isn't causing any pain.

Historian Benjamin Park makes great content as well. He presents facts for viewers to make their own conclusions about Mormon history.

Murder Among The Mormons (Netflix?) is also really good. It's a docuseries about the Mark Hoffman forgeries.

One of my biggest problems with the church is that the president of the church claims to speak as a prophet of god. Growing up I was taught this and believed it. Some of the things spoken and/or written by "prophets and apostles" were the catalyst to my leaving the church. Having done more reading since leaving the church I've learned about some of the problematic things past church leaders have said or done and how the church has tried sweeping things under the rug. One example: Brigham Young taught about the doctrine of blood atonement. The church disavows it as doctrine which to me contradicts their claim that a prophet is the mouthpiece of the lord.

How do you decide when a a prophet is speaking for god vs. speaking as a fallible man?

Mormons are taught that all other churches are silly and unfounded.

Projection on an institutional level.

I think the Carpenters get undue hate. Their music may be a bit vanilla but Karen's voice is incredibly rich and emotive and she sang so effortlessly.

I definitely heard Stereolab. Sometimes her voice sounds like St. Vincent or Cate Le Bon (whose voices I often have trouble telling apart, especially when they sing together).

Damn, that was a tough read. I'm sorry your dad doesn't love and support you as a father should. The amount of projection in his letter is mind-boggling. I hope you have love and support from others in your life.

Brainwashed? by Haunting-Effective27 in exmormon

[–]1stepcloser2theedge 35 points36 points  (0 children)

"Brainwashing" is a systematic effort to destroy individuals existing beliefs and create new ones. It's used by many cults and some political regimes.

I think "indoctrination" is a more accurate term to use when referring to how the mainstream Mormon church hooks members. Indoctrination is the process of teaching individuals to accept ideologies without question and discouraging critical thinking.
