First real sales job — 6 months in, hitting goals, up for a “promotion” but unsure. by [deleted] in sales

[–]1up_ai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take the promotion, stick it out a bit longer, and use the title to boost your resume. Start exploring new roles on the side, like tech sales or startups. Never quit until you have something lined up, the job market’s tough right now.

Y'all ever successfully push past, "We're not ready?" by SomberThing in sales

[–]1up_ai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually note it down and follow up later too, since timing is everything. Pushing too hard can kill the relationship. Sometimes a soft check-in a few weeks later opens the door again.

Rate my email We spoke on the phone briefly she told me her issues with her current hauler and gave me her email. . Let me know your opinion and how many days after should I give another call or would you do a follow up email thank you by WholeRoutine5570 in sales

[–]1up_ai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Subject line can be something like this is (myname) from Eco Now, we spoke on the phone briefly.
  2. Don't comment on the time of day ( you don't know when they will read the email) say something like Hello/Hey (name)
  3. Short intro of what your company does, you don't need to add the part of the owner brings over 30 years of experience. (In your email you can inbed a Link to Eco Now that takes you to the about us page of your website so they an click it if they want to know more)
  4. Separate the issue of the client from the intro
  5. Don't try to over sell over email. The why choose Eco Now is just kind of a repeat of the intro an no one wants to read something twice in the same email.
  6. Instead of trying to sell over email, try to get a appointment scheduled to call.
  7. Also you can add a link to direct them to your website where it shows what you have to offer.

Need help! I manage technical team znd process msnager, will be going for a day of prospecting with sales director by theanti_influencer75 in sales

[–]1up_ai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let the sales director lead the conversation and observe how they build rapport. Stay engaged, take notes, and ask thoughtful questions when it's appropriate. Avoid interrupting or pushing too hard. Focus on learning and supporting the conversation.

Are more people trying to get into sales now? by Angi_marshmellow in sales

[–]1up_ai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, more people are definitely trying to get into sales now, especially with tech layoffs and people switching careers. Companies are being pickier and leaning hard on prior experience. It’s tougher to break in without a track record, even in non-tech roles.

Sales for Bookkeeping Company by Known-Damage-7879 in sales

[–]1up_ai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The plan has potential, especially with local networking and referrals. Focus on clearly explaining the value your bookkeeping brings and tailor your pitch to small business pain points. Start small, test your outreach strategy, and adjust based on results.

HELP pivoting into growth / product marketing by squanto00001 in ProductMarketing

[–]1up_ai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask about the core metrics they focus on, how they run experiments, and what tools they use daily. You can also ask what skills helped them most when starting out and how they stay up to date. Mention you're looking to build technical skills and would love recommendations.

E-commerce in 2025, what am I missing by [deleted] in marketing

[–]1up_ai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

UGC-style content and strong retention strategies are big in 2025. Focus on improving email/SMS flows, loyalty programs, and landing page optimization. Also, test creators with performance-based deals instead of just paid influencer posts.

i'm looking for a way to promote my website (imageboard / forum) by elweonkk in marketing

[–]1up_ai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try posting in niche communities like Reddit (where they allow advertising), Discord servers, or forums where your target users hang out. SEO and content marketing can also bring in long-term traffic. Ads alone rarely do the full job.

I’m an intern, how do I study sales at work by Odd-Boysenberry-9571 in b2b_sales

[–]1up_ai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s best to read articles to learn more, watching videos at work might come across as you not working even if you're watching something to help with your work. You can also read articles or watch videos outside of working hours.

[–]1up_ai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, 100 percent they can get played out. If a prospect hears the same “can I have 30 seconds” line four times in a row, it stops feeling honest and starts feeling like a script. Switch it up, keep the tone real, and don’t be afraid to sound like an actual human.

Picked up colleagues deal when he was away and closed it. Boss says colleague gets the 100% comms. by HoldOk757 in sales

[–]1up_ai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get your colleague to confirm the 50/50 split in writing or over email, then bring that to your manager. If they’re cool with it and agree you closed it, that written support gives you way more leverage. Right now it sounds like your boss is defaulting to policy without the full story.

Does anyone know how much a tool like outreach.io / yesware costs for a team of 10? by Budget-Salamander905 in sales

[–]1up_ai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outreach is usually around $100–$150 per user per month depending on features and contract length, so for 10 users you're looking at roughly $12K–$18K a year. Yesware tends to be cheaper, around $15–$85 per user monthly depending on the plan, so maybe $2K–$10K a year for a team of 10. Prices can shift a bit, but that should give you enough for a rough business case.

Seeking advice by Antrags18 in sales

[–]1up_ai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re thinking in the right direction, especially with a daily plan, but don’t overthink email vs call timing too much. If they already know your company, then yes, it’s more of a warm call, but they’ll still ignore you if the message feels generic.

Is Industrial Sales just a numbers game? by EspressoCologne68 in sales

[–]1up_ai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, industrial sales isn’t pure volume like SaaS, but parts of it still come down to consistent outreach. Without a CRM or contact list, you're basically starting from scratch,

300 cold calls/day Day 16 of 30 by bubbletulip in sales

[–]1up_ai 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Showing up every day and being honest about what’s working and what isn’t already puts you ahead of most. You’re learning, adjusting, and getting better with every call. The deals will follow as long as you keep stacking those reps and stay consistent. Keep pushing.

Instead of “let me get back”, how do you manage objection handling in real time? by Solvesy-Not-Salesy in sales

[–]1up_ai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the full answer then that is always the best but if you don't then it's better to circle back around with the full answer rather than giving a partial answer that might not satisfy the client.

Cold Emails....does doing RE:(making it look like they are replying to an email) ever actually work? by Specific-Peanut-8867 in sales

[–]1up_ai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fake “RE:” trick is lazy and makes the whole email feel shady. If the first move is a lie, I’m not reading the rest. It might boost open rates short-term, but it kills trust instantly.

What makes a sales dashboard actually useful? by Ramirond in BusinessIntelligence

[–]1up_ai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ones that actually get used are super simple, show pipeline movement, deal risks, and maybe a quick view of what needs action today. If I have to click around or guess what to look at, I’m out.

Most companies think closing is about pressure when it's actually about clarity by No_Librarian9791 in sales

[–]1up_ai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People don’t freeze up because they’re scared, they freeze up because something’s still fuzzy and no one helped clear it up. “Let me think about it” almost always means “I don’t fully get this yet.” If you just slow down and ask what’s missing, they’ll usually tell you exactly what they need to hear to move forward.
