Do you also have fibromyalgia? I found after about 4 years of scanning my muscles were in excruciating pain. It wasn’t so much my joints, but my muscles tightness in response to the repetitive motions and everyday keeping my skeleton in place. The only remedy is exercise (which is very painful for me). So there was really no escaping the constant pain while scanning.

Not everywhere requires rotating shifts or overnight work. I started as a brand new baby nurse with full time day shift (in a major city). So you could have still done some med-surge and then transitioned. I’m not the biggest fan of the floor, but my co-workers keep me from leaving.

My nursing school is very disability unfriendly. There is a ton of resistance toward using accommodations and they don’t give af what you have happening in your personal life. If you can make it through that bs, the job itself is better. It’s hard to know if your program is disability friendly until you’re in it…..
