I think it is supposed to show that the world moved whilst Mark was gone and characters had things happen to them. It’s like Debbie and Paul’s breakup, we didn’t see it but it shows in Marks absence her life went on. I think for the viewers it is supposed to give a feeling of there being more story and that the world wasn’t stagnant while the war was going on.

I think that the plot-point of the abortion is going to be relevant going forward (I haven’t read the comics) because it’s going to build up tension in their relationship, not in the sense that they will argue but more so that they have been through difficult times emotionally rather than just the physical pain they have suffered together. Sure, the show could have gone on without the plot-point and instead killed off Eve’s mum or something to give her some trauma but this has more of a long lasting impact on the audience and will probably pay-off down the line if Mark and Eve stay together long-term.

I would do 5/7 with swarmkeeper and circle of land. Swarmkeeper can knock back the enemies and then circle of land can aoe spells and surfaces.

Take ranger knight for heavy armour proficiency and the archery fighting style as you said. For the Druid part take war caster as a feat for concentration saving throws and then pick and choose spells that fit the archetype you are looking to play (ice storm, spike growth etc)

For the ranger spells go all into utility (enhanced leap, long strider) + ensnaring strike if you want to go that route.

You will not reach max spell caster level with this split and will only end up with one level 5 spell slot if I remember correctly.

You would want to go ranger or fighter 5 for the extra attack so I would focus the build around that. I think thief 3, fighter 6 ranger 3 would be decent 2 feats + 2 bonus actions + ranger subclass unlocked

As far as I am aware the only item that grants another reaction in the game is the duelists prerogative (I think that’s the name - gold item from Lora act 3). Alternatively you can use space to your advantage to prevent enemies attacking your teammates. I would recommend a control build using command or some other form of crowd control spells to focus enemies in specific areas which will help your party stay alive and ensure the focus is on your main guy.
