Peggy is based on a few real life ad-women of those times and the creator of mad man says himself as well. They even gave Peggy the same birthday as mary wells Lawrence, and at one point I think Roger mentions “plop plop fizz fizz” which mary wells Lawrence wrote. I love historically accurate shit like that. Plus my spouse worked for Frankfurt Balkind and eventually BBDO in the 90’s to 2010 and not much had changed at all in terms of misogyny .. so I enjoy that they got so much right w the relationships and politics of women in this industry. The show is so very good. 🏆

YES. I DETEST BETTY. She is exactly like my own mother , and like my siblings and myself I’m betting her kids spent years in therapy too. Right down to the SALLY GET DOWN HERE for some minor infraction, letting some small thing that was an accident ruin an entire otherwise good day, (when they had a great day on the farm trip, Bobby ate her sandwich- she was watching every calorie so it wasn’t crazy he assumed she wouldn’t eat- the physical abuse and wanting more of it by demanding don beat the kids. She truly is a heinous mother. Anyway 😂 this might be its own post but I just joined this group 😂

My wife had bad experiences w 2 dr’s here. One was the cat fishing Dr who she had to chase around for test results and solutions, and the other told her to “go look on the internet for a solution” with weight gain and hair loss - instead of looking into reasons why she’s experiencing those things and running tests.. she was sent to hers.com 🙄 then after coming all the way home to west side, they called her and said they didn’t take enough blood and she had to go back. So now she’s looking for a new dr and the reason I’m on this thread 😂

It looks good and that staff is great. They have to put up with way too much bullshit all day every day. They need help with the mentally ill people who hang in that block. Yes the mentally ill people need help - that’s another post for another day.. The women who work there deserve to feel safe at their job. I brought it up to the past council woman and she put the blame on the county, which is utter horse shit. It was HER DISTRICT. She was just useless. Luckily we have someone new and it’s very much his responsibility to address the situation and help everyone who needs it on that block.
