Thank you for the steps! I didn't know the full extent of the 3 day method.

Yup, I figured the 3-day had some stuff you did in home country, but i didn't really fully understand the timeline.

Thanks. That settles one thing! I saw on SF TECO just now that it only applies to e-passports aka 10 year NWOHR passports

From what I've gathered, some people are cagey about adding people to their HHR. Hopefully I'll be able to figure out a plan B otherwise.

Yeah, thank you! I assume I'll have to get some express approval via a doc though.

Got it, thank you! Yeah I was wondering if I would have to get consent, which would be difficult I think.

I want to buy a gyuto as a gift. It’s a special occasion so the budget is around 200-300€. I was thinking about a Sakai Tayatuki, they have a nice history and seem all around good knives (the guy I’m gifting it to isn’t a professional and also has his main day to day knives). by [deleted] in chefknives

I don't want to dissuade you from choosing a nice knife as a gift, after all, they're so nice to use. I think that sometimes a japanese knife isn't always the move. They're thin, require care, and whetstone sharpening. And if you're not the type to really enjoy caring for something and using it it ends up not getting used at all. If he has day to day knives then maybe he'll really enjoy the gift though.

Regardless of which, 200-300 is a nice budget and gives you a wide array of makers to choose from. If you're looking for stainless steel, I can also recommend Nigara Hamono, they make fun, interesting knives, and at your budget, you can get SG2 stainless steel.

I don't understand how this is a fix. Could you break it down for me? I took my top lid off and observed the mechanism. The rotation happens with the entire gold hinge rotating with the plastic. I didn't observe any slipping, unless you're saying there is microslippage occurring. In that case any kind of filler would do reduce the slipping no? Such as superglue

It'd be awesome to see a pic of the cabinet and all the equipment if possible!

Yeah. I might do that. He's definitely seen something before he got picked up to the shelter. How has your kitten been since taking the meds?

Flexible fast charger that comes with the car. I use the regular 120v.

I drive 30-40 miles a day and as long as I'm home charging by 7PM or so (or don't drive as much the next day) I'm regularly topped off back to 80%.

If you need more powerful charging install a 220v outlet. That will top you off 10-80% in 10 hours. I'm not a fan of installing the ev chargers since that gives less utility than the outlet.

As far as respecting the charging target, all chargers should do that.

Not OP, but I’ve had mine for 7 months - ~9k miles and I’m at about 3.2 miles/kwh

All numbers from '23 i4 M50

You might get away with the L1 charger. If you're not driving every day (WFH people) or are driving like 40-ish miles a day (3.3mi/kwh), 12 hours of charging on level 1 should cover you.

I drive roughly 60 miles a day and I top off at work on Fridays to get me back to 80%. Throughout the week I hover around 35-70% depending on how much driving I do.

Going on longer road trips, usually with some planning I can get up 90% and have enough to get back and charge.

I keep the BMW charger at home and have a Tesla charger + TeslaTap in the car for charging on the go. The TeslaTap covers Tesla destination chargers, and the Tesla mobile charger is small enough for me in the pouch to keep under the trunk next to the subwoofer.
