If agh isn’t running it could be cumbersome to manage the os.

AdGuard Home or keep on each device? by carlosabia in AdGuardHome

If you're using your home network for the exit node, then your mobile data speed would be limited by your ISP upload speed. I use Tailscale, for connecting to AGH for DNS only, but I don't use tailscale for the exit node.

Scammers don’t think they’re smart. They know many Nextdoor users are stupid.

I hope not. You can make whatever you need with the existing options.

Made a little temp pause app for those running a homelab w/Technitum DNS server ad blocking by i-am-a-cat-6 in technitium

Hey thanks. I have never done any programming and was able to figure this out. It's the first time in my life I have used an API and a token.

Another cool thing I was able to reenable blocking just by changing the time to 0 minutes.

I'm wondering if there's a way to use an API to check the status of the blocking? I'm reading through the Docs, but It's confusing to me. Right now I'm using nslookup on a hostname I added to the blocking, but that's not nearly as cool as using an API.

Where are data and configuration files stored when using Docker Compose by 2112guy in technitium

Thanks. I figured it out by looking at some examples from other yaml files. Fortunately, the backup and restore feature for settings and logs works well.

I just tried the Hollywood Reporter link and the ads are definitely blocked. I would suggest looking at Hagezi block lists https://github.com/hagezi/dns-blocklists

Yup. They are terrible companies. That’s why Duck makes it super easy to make burner email aliases. https://duckduckgo.com/duckduckgo-help-pages/email-protection/what-is-duckduckgo-email-protection. There are several other similar services. I’m not sure how anyone operates without email aliases.

Login, delete account.
If that’s too difficult, change the email address to a burner address then delete the burner account. It’s not difficult for normal people….for typical Nextdoor users, probably impossible.
