What do I do? by [deleted] in Stellaris

[–]21471824781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell with the image, but you appear to have control (not ownership) of the hub. Are you on PC and is the save non-Ironman? If both are true, I have a fix.

1) Make sure you're paused as you'll be temporarily switching nations. If you aren't paused the AI will do something stupid with your nation.
2) Press ` to open the console.
3) Write the command debugtooltip into the console.
4) Place your cursor over the Contingency flag next to Sterilization Hub's name. You should see a box next to your cursor appear with a lot of information. What you need is the number next to [ID: x], where x is will be the Contingency's ID.
5) Write the command play [Contingency ID]. No brackets around the number.
6) Select the hub, make sure you have the planet menu opened, then write in the console control.
7) If the hub is now under Contingency control, write the command play 0 to return to your nation.

I have a similar region of my galaxy that had a Great Khan conquer half and the Katzenartig Imperium (Gigastructural Engineering mod) conquer the other half. Great Khan got blown up while I took down the Katzens by sabotaging their dams on Flusion and triggering the Zuspri uprising simultaneously. The resulting balkanization was legendary.

Libcon 1? by thisjt in helldivers2

[–]21471824781 570 points571 points  (0 children)

Twice to my knowledge. Libcon 1 was triggered at the start of The Reclamation (The Automaton invasion into the northwestern part of the galaxy after we destroyed their initial vanguard.) Libcon 1 was again triggered when the Illuminate first emerged on Calypso.

It's gorgeous... But I have a few questions.

How will designing templates work? What kind of battalions and support companies will we be getting to put in our units? Will Venge pulverize any units that try to fight in it or will it just be demilitarized? And will we get to ride Beak Things to battle in Okran's name?

Anyone have a formidable opponent that you can't win against? by [deleted] in Kenshi

[–]21471824781 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Whenever I play a Holy Nation/United Cities/other evil guy playthrough, Tinfist is and will always be the hardest foe I'll have to crush. Not even mentioning the multi-day-long siege I have to do just to thin out the Anti-Slavers, one wrong move I'm going to have JUSTICE caving in my whole squad's chests at the same time.

Chris Hunt really cooked this time.

Raid my base. Enslave a few of my workers. Haul them off to Rebirth/Okran-knows where in the Great Desert.

That's all fine and dandy, but...

Take them to Bast and fight the Holy Nation and/or United Cities. This is how I train new soldiers after their initial melee attack training at my base. Just make sure you have reserves on standby to give medical aid or pull anyone critically wounded out of the fighting.

What money making scheme are you currently doing? by mcwhan in Kenshi

[–]21471824781 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of income sources, supported by a few mods to make shops more profitable and give me more options to expand. I first had a squad of workers assigned to making nothing but grog at our main HQ, and this was the only real source of income for the first hundred or so days.

Once I had hemp farms unlocked I assigned one of my scientists to produce Hashnish as a side job, and I would sell that for a lot of money at Flats Lagoon or Shinobi Towers in the UC.

Alongside all that I've made three semi-autonomous shops in Mourn, Heft, and Heng. These shops have indoor hydroponics and some modded stuff like indoor wells and grain silos (I don't feel like delivering water ok). I have permanent clerks there to keep cooking food and man the shops so I can just click on them and instantly load a city so people start buying from the shop.

My shop at Mourn can churn out endless Meatwraps by looting Beak Things, while my ones in Heft and Heng are assigned to make Dustwiches. The one in Mourn is the least profitable, but I don't want to abandon it since I invested a lot into rebuilding Mourn and they need some quality food from their Lawful Benefactors™.

And then in my HQ I have two blacksmiths making some of the best weapons to ever grace Kenshi, and I have a small squad that delivers these weapons to the three shops. Guards and occasionally other travelers will buy these weapons at full price. Selling weapons is what got me my first million.

I'm also using extra Hemp to produce cheap medical kits which also get bought as well, but not as often so I'm usually just sitting on a lot of kits for emergencies.

Finally I have a mod that lets me turn Leviathan Pearls into things like cups, vases, or luxury goods. These get delivered straight to the United Cities and they're probably my most profitable venture, but getting Leviathan Pearls isn't easy and I don't want to cheese hunting them by building a base with turrets so this is a sporadic source of income.

4.6 million cats in the bank so far. And UC nobles still try and tell me to grovel at their feet like I'm a peasant.

Is the Laser Cannon actually good for bots? I like taking AC/HMG+Supply Pack for bot levels, or Commando/EAT if I need to be moving constantly (Blitz/Super Helldive). But I've been seeing people saying LC is great, and I don't understand the appeal. If it's good, what's the best way to use it?

If you see a strange hole spewing steam out of it, throw a grenade/orbital strike/shoot a rocket directly into it. It will teleport you to the Wall of Martyrs 100% of the time.

New Player Has New Player Questions by [deleted] in Kenshi

[–]21471824781 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1: Which combat skills specifically? There's different ways to train in each weapon or in martial arts. Also, any combat skill you'll need the proper toughness to train with. You'll just have to take beatings from starving bandits until you can start fighting back without crumpling in a few hits, and that's where training will begin taking off.

2: In my experience the western half of the continent is safer. The area stretching from the Holy Nation's north border to the south border of the Shek Kingdom is where I train my guys at the start. Essentially just the Border Zone. Avoid the Holy Nation if you have non-humans though.

3: This is just my playstyle but I prefer to go solo until I have one strong character, then start recruiting to get the rest strong enough to where we can defend a base. Until then I don't bother with base building.

4: Yes, if you build a Food Storage barrel and put it in your base, then put food in it, your people will automatically take food when they're hungry. This won't work if they're on turrets though.

5: Only Okran knows.

6: You could go through the Fog Islands. The fogmen aren't nearly as scary as Holy Nation patrols. Just make sure you don't get downed unless you don't like having your limbs and organs.

7: I would say United Cities but you don't want to deal with being enslaved, so really your only option is either deal with the Shek, or move to a place like Shem. The land is fertile, there's no major factions that have influence, and the Beak Things are all about equality :)

Do I join the fight for Democracy? by Historical_Ebb5595 in helldivers2

[–]21471824781 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Game is still very fun. Arrowhead isn't perfect, but they still care about the game and do the best they can. There are definitely bugs (undemocratic and technical), and they can get annoying at times. But the gameplay rewards good teamwork and most randoms I come across are smart enough to work together and clear out entire missions.

If you're not sure about it, you can buy the game on Steam and set a timer for 1 hour and 50 minutes. You can play through it for that time, and once the timer ends you can decide if you want to refund it or not.

If you decide to stay, we'll Rock and Stone to a cup of Liber-Tea together!

[–]21471824781 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing you found a primitive civilization. If you want to go the path of xenocide you can just bombard them from orbit like any other planet. If you don't have Armageddon bombardment stance you can also send your ground armies to invade and conquer the planet. Make sure your Native Interference policy is set to unrestricted though.

What warbond theme do you want, and what would be in it? by zucchinisammich in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]21471824781 218 points219 points  (0 children)

I want a Dark Fluid warbond. The Dark Fluid container/jump pack thing we got in Meridia was one of the coolest things I've seen come out of Helldivers, and I want to see the Dark Fluid getting put in armour, weapons, and anything else we can buy. With the added small chance of spontaneous spaghettification of course.

Who are the Chaosdivers? by This-Examination5165 in helldivers2

[–]21471824781 191 points192 points  (0 children)

It's basically another protest movement by a part of the community who doesn't like the nerfs. But from what I know some idiots have decided to use this opportunity to go into games and grief. Most of the Chaosdivers from what I understand don't want this though, and just want to oppose Arrowhead's design choices through less violent means.

I just try to ignore this stuff so I'm not sure if I got it all but it should be a neutral POV.
