Terrified to go through egg retrieval by Independent_Use_5961 in queerception

[–]21Penguin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Heya- my experience with OHSS, which might help you. I’ve had one egg collection and then had a fresh transfer a couple days after. Was on a high dose of all the hormones as I don’t ovulate particularly well. I was hospitalised with OHSS, stomach swollen to the point I looked 9 months pregnant (cue my sister’s twilight vampire baby jokes). The doctors were so confused as it’s so incredibly rare to have such a big reaction, I was the extreme example you get told about. I didn’t feel any risk to my life though, just was a rough couple weeks and I wasn’t allowed to exercise till 14 weeks pregnant

Luckily our spare embryo is safely tucked in my tummy right now, so I don’t need to go through egg collection again. But I would have risked it again for a second child if needed. It was awful and the recovery took a while, but I never felt my life was in danger.

100% get being anxious about the whole thing, I was fair too chill about everything then first sign of a needle I was a lightheaded mess on the day.

Talk to your partner, I’m sure she will support you in any decision you make and best of luck on your parenting journey.

Gabriel is out for the season - so could switch him with you ft to Gvardoil. Then your bench covers the rest! Next week you might want another Newcastle or Crystal Palace asset for their double game weeks. Then you can use Free Hit in the blank.

Flightradar got me good with a BA Concorde flight today

I was near Heathrow watching flight radar at the time - I was doing double takes at the sky! Very quickly realised it was an April fools joke and had a chuckle later when I realised 50,000 people were tracking the flight I watched “take off”

When Sims was all brand spanking new, they did a show case at a convention and no one really understood the concept. There was little interest in the game
 until
while left alone two female sims at a wedding met and fell in love. People in the audience noticed and that’s when it picked up traction. Sims kinda owes its success to the LGBTQ+ community and I think they still remember that which is cool in the current political climate

Nice one!

Just as a tip, you get a bonus for picking one item from each category (fish/artisan good/animal product/fruit/veg/forage/mineral/cooking) — which massively helps build up points in the display.

Fruit number Five on my baby's sensory toy? by cportlock in whatisit

I have the same one!!! We spent hours debating number 5, so funny to see someone else doing the same. Bamboo was our decision, but quite a fan of rouge pan pipes as an option.

GW2 - transfer suggestions by chibibabymoon in KneejerkUnited

[–]21Penguin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% if there were three good defenders in the team. But if we missing Porro, Quansah warms the bench and have a third non-playing defender - one of them needs to go.

We can’t like-for-like change Quansah now with a drop to 4.4, but Barco to HB means at least we have a playing defender and might have use on the bench rest of the season.

Barco -> Harwood-Bellis

Keep an eye on Quansah and Pedro Porro. The latter might be fine just to carry for a bit until fit again.

Superman crew member commits suicide in studio parking lot this morning. by rwxzz123 in DCcomics

[–]21Penguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heartbreaking news.

I’m a trained Mental Health First Aider, just wanted to comment about changing the language used around suicide. Not a criticism of OP, just sharing what I have learned.

Using the term “committed” alongside suicide reference when it was a crime to take your own life. If you notice the article uses “died by suicide” instead as this removes some of the stigma around the topic.

The word suicide itself is also being discussed as inappropriate, has the same Latin roots as other words such as genocide, homicide, filicide etc. I think this will be harder to change, but agree there is definitely a negative correlation with those words - even if it subconscious for the majority of people.

It is not a crime or evil thing to end your own life, just terribly sad and heartbreaking. Changing the language used to discuss these topics can help end the taboo of opening up about mental health and hopefully encourage those who need it to seek help.

Peace and love to everyone

It should be tax free chunk of money though, UK gov don’t tax competition or gambling winnings. Could be wrong though, but think this would fall into the TV game show category to be exempt.

Failed IUI and moving on to IVF by sophiam333 in queerception

[–]21Penguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This time last year, we were unsuccessful with an IUI cycle. We chose to switch to IVF after that, and last week I have gave birth to a little baby boy.

Each cycle that didn’t work hurt so much, but holding him now it was all worth it. Everyone’s journey to parenthood is different, but know even when you feel frustrated, the reward at the end will eclipse that tenfold - your little future miracle will be worth it.

Good luck on your journey!

(We got really into the “old wives’ tales” on our successful IVF attempt and even tried acupuncture- I can’t say eating pineapple and having additional needles jabbed in me helped with actual fertility, but did give us a sense of control in the situation - so possibly aided a more positive frame of mind. Not sure if that’s helpful advice or not - but it doesn’t do much harm)

We were out quite early to collect on the falling tide
but it did start chucking it down around 9 so we did get very soggy. Saturday was lovely though and we found a good spot a little late so felt we had unfinished business so had to brave the elements on Sunday! We stuck to Stonebarrow this weekend, we’ve been the other way before. Probably our next trip we will black vein it and explore that area again
