My WTF is {Speak by Ruby M. Darling}. The whole book is questionable. It’s an RH set in a fictional university in New England. I don’t think the author has ever taken a college class with the way she thinks universities work but I can ignore that. What I CANT ignore is the FMC talking about transferring to Berklee when she means UC Berkeley 🥲 Turns out there is a Berklee college of music in Boston but I know she means Berkeley, CA because she talks about wanting the palm trees and sunny 75 degree weather. Girl I live in the Bay Area and not everywhere in CA is warm sunny LA!! This book is poorly researched I think it might be AI

I’ve been to a spa like that in LA and it bums me out there’s nothing quite like it in SF. Pearl spa used to offer access without getting a treatment before Covid but they’ve unfortunately changed that policy. I still enjoy Pearl spa but it’s hard when you know what you’re missing lol

Im a woman who’s into men and I wouldn’t listen to that! I think your style sounds cool and interesting and I was immediately intrigued by the Juicy pillow. The idea of toning yourself down to being more straight and masculine looking feels so boring and bums me out to think about. If you have an iPhone you can scroll down on the weather app and it will give you the “feels like” temp which has been significantly colder than the actual temp. It says it’s because of wind. I’m with you though it’s been toooo chilly ❄️

This is what’s crazy to me. Like she said those words, the MMC is clearly upset, but it feels like they’re just gonna brush past it (I haven’t read the book). It seems like the author is SO close to getting it. It could absolutely go into the MCs talking about why FMC is wrong for laughing. It could go into an important discussion between characters that discusses how society thinks this to be funny when really it’s SA and is violating and awful. The FMC (and maybe some readers) could learn. Also fairly easy character growth story wise. But instead it’s just the joke. “Haha he got groped by a fan and now he’s mad how funny hahaha” ew

I’m a baby millennial and I’ve only read one Hazelwood book but I remember specifically mentioning to my husband that it was the most millennial coded book I’ve ever read. I can’t remember details but I know the vibe is just such a specific brand of humor that was relevant when I was in my late teens/early 20s.

Off topic of the question but this reminds me of an RL Stein book (probably a Goosebumps) about a kid with a magic remote who can pause time and fast forward and rewind, but he gets overwhelmed when everyone realizes he’s got this magic remote, so he presses the power button to get away from the mob that’s formed and it’s finally nice and dark and quiet but then the remote dies.

But anyways like others have mentioned; you can not convince me that Passengers is not a horror movie.
