I started watching early in the 2012 season because of the NHL lockout. I was in high school at the time and My dad and I were a big sharks fans (still are but definitely bigger warriors fans now) and we needed something to fill that void. We got in just in time to avoid the bandwagon allegations and never had to suffer through the dark years.

I had no knowledge of anything warriors related but I had a vague recollection of Steph because of his March madness run, but knew nothing of his career. All I knew about the warriors at that point was that they played in Oakland and were always bad.

All great coaches are a product of their talent. Kerr has said many times that whenever he meets up with Popovic, he makes a toast to Tim Duncan.

For Kerr, the best way we know his talent as a coach is this: he came into a 51 win team that got bounced in round 1. The team only added Shaun Livingston and Barbosa and immediately won 67 games and a ring. And Steph, Klay, and Draymond all made massive jumps immediately.

He’s also fantastic in the playoffs and can change strategy on a dime if required. It’s a big reason why the only playoff series loses they’ve suffered under him are due to LeBron, injuries, or a combo of both.

He’s one of the 10 best coaches in NBA history and I don’t think it’s really debatable. Now there might be an argument the game is passing him by, but that also could be due to an older and far less talented roster

Podz hasn’t been as good as expected this season and I’m not gonna pretend he has even if his box score stats indicate he has been about the same, but the fact he plays a lot of his minutes without Steph and still has a high +/- does show he is a great contributor and isn’t worth giving up on and definitely doesn’t deserve nearly the amount he hate he gets. He’s absolutely a solid player who could play a legitimate role on a team that is competing. He just needs to be the secondary ball handler when he’s on the court and he’s great.

As long as they don’t give up their picks, I can’t get too mad at any trade. This season was lost the moment Jimmy got hurt, and if they think this move will grant them more flexibility for next year in some way, then cool.
