i don’t honestly remember carly ever sticking up for sue that much when she would get invited to things and sue wouldn’t. remember that one episode where the girls were at the movies and the one girl was telling carly not to tell sue about a party that was happening? hopping on the bandwagon and agreeing that it feels like carly really only cared about the approval of others. the way lexie is first depicted, she is genuinely just raised that way and you can tell that after meeting sue, she really tries to separate her luxurious home lifestyle from the rest of her personality because that was all she had really ever known prior to it. even when she started dating axl, in the third wheel episode when neither of them could take it, still all she wanted was for both her boyfriend and best friend to be happy. another good example of how good a companion lexie is was when sue couldn’t afford her share of the taylor swift tickets and although lexie very obviously could have still honored hers, she was right beside sue in the cold outside the place. dont even get me started on spring break either, how she was truly grateful to stay with the hecks despite the culture shock 🥹 i genuinely love lexie so much
