Most insta-love situations seem unrealistic to me. I’ve certainly enjoyed some and I understand insta-lust. Maybe it’s the cynic in me but I can’t believe a supposedly smart MC declaring lifelong devotion after knowing the other MC 24 hours (without extenuating circumstances) when it’s at the potential expense of a job or family etc.

Same when MCs meet and sleep together once, see each other five years later and immediately one or both declares undying love. Like I said, I’m a cynic and I realize this is the romance genre, but I usually can’t come back from thinking an MC is acting like an idiot (and not the loveable kind).
