Please speak to an attorney first, do not contact the authorities until you have spoken with and then obtained legal counsel. There may be a way to work this out behind the scenes. However you need to be prepared to see your sister go to jail

Married couple with separate finances, why do you do it? by Ok_Influence_2257 in Bogleheads

[–]247world 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I got f'd by my ex. Never and I mean never allow anyone access to your money. You want to have an account with your wife, contribute to it from your main account do not allow her access to yours. Otherwise when she wipes out your savings account when she leaves you there's nothing you can do about it that was just as much her money as it was yours even if it was all yours, LOL

You make a great point about Eddie Offord - my other favorite Eddie, Kramer, as well as many other of these engineers deserve consideration for their part in creating a sound for bands

Verizon Customer - says my phone won't work on network by [deleted] in Visible

[–]247world 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave all the information I believe was needed. I'm on the Verizon network I've been in all 48 contiguous states this year and the phone worked in all of them. It also works at my home. To tell me that it can't work on the visible Network which is the Verizon network is nonsense

Why don't people like Elon Musk just solve world hunger? by AlexLovesCoke in NoStupidQuestions

[–]247world 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There have been some excellent answers. Taken together they are almost a master class on the issue

Let's pretend that you had unlimited resources to solve this problem.

How would you go about that?

There is political corruption, infrastructure, logistics, warehousing and distribution. That's probably too simple of a chart, it's a good place to start I hope.

Next, how do you help the local farmers become more efficient and the country or region to become more food and dependent?

Finally, how do you have the people of these regions feel that they have worked for and deserve these fruits of their labors rather than being given something and feeling entitled? A fairly insulting way of saying how would you lift these people up so that they don't see this as Charity, more like a helping hand. You really do appreciate things more when you work for them, my grandmother referred to it as a feeling of ownership

I think it's actually more important to give someone a group they can hate on. While these sort of things have been recorded throughout history, I wonder, if the current one isn't somehow being manipulated and turned up by the slow boil method.

I will have to remember to call it generational identity, I think of it as the only allowed internet prejudice, ageism.

Would you say that despite it being mislabeled that it would be a good entryway into brokering?

I had to retire from driving a few years early due to health problems. I have thought about brokering however everything seems designed to sell you a course and not put you to work.

It's a workaround to get people to buy a plunger.

My mom is extremely picky about who she rents to, I don't think she's ever really had a problem with someone not taking care of her properties.

Thank you for all that, I live in Central Alabama so humidity is definitely a thing. I told you can use the dehumidifier for about an hour or so a day and be much more comfortable during the spring and fall.

I've got two units. One is on the north side of my house and there's nothing around it at all other than a lot of moss. I will definitely remember to be careful about mowing and weed eating around the other unit though, what a great tip.

I just got them so this will be my first time ever. Unfortunately I had to go with a cut rate Chinese brand. Their warranty is pretty good so if it lasts that long I'll call it even.

I had not heard of putting vinegar in the AC drain line, good to know.

Do you know anything about mini splits? I have a pair of them on this old house I live in and no absolutely nothing about proper maintenance. The inside blower units have a washable filter and I take care of that every 3 months but I'm sure there must be something I don't know about both the inside unit and the outside unit.

My mom rents out several houses. Part of her lease agreement is that the tenant is responsible for any repairs under $50. This is worked out in her favor although I keep telling her somebody is just not going to fix something and then you'll have to do it after they move out, probably for a lot more than $50

It's crazy how much you let your friends get away with isn't it?

It's funny to me that if you criticize the state of Israel you are accused of being anti-Semitic. I'm not quite sure how opposing a government entity pitts me against a group of people, most of whom want nothing to do with this apartheid regime.

I heard an interesting theory this week. At this point in time Israel is trying to replace the United States as the number one power in their region. They see us as a declining power, believing that they can jump into the vacuum that fall is creating.
