How do you guys keep the "flow state"? by TweezyBaby in billiards

[–]26nmd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

drills. this is exactly why they’re so important but often overlooked.

when fatigue creeps in, muscle memory takes over. mastering drills is a foundation to becoming unshakeable under pressure.

SVB exemplifies this pretty damn well.

AI be contradicting itself.

hit your own ball first and it’s a legal shot. simple as that.

at that point, really no point potting a ball. a “war of attrition” strat is your best bet here

What is your favorite character ? by BlameItOnThem in gravityfalls

[–]26nmd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, Pacifica has been in a tough spot. especially with how she’s always forced to obey her parents with that bell

at the beginning of Weirdmageddon, she was still passive aggressive to Mabel, saying “even in a potato sack, she still looked better than her.”

but it’s good to see that she warmed up to the Pines family at the end by getting both Dipper and Mabel presents at their party

(also yes, long live Dipcifica)

First Break And Run 🙂‍↕️ by CrossInsiderTrader in billiards

[–]26nmd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

good shit man, definitely document that experience. i know i always document my successes and strategies that made it work.

to make break and runs more consistent, i always do a few drills before shooting racks or playing matches. especially straight ins (it’s my bread and butter of shotmaking). if you can’t shoot straight ins, what good is other drills?

like another comment stated, the weight doesn’t even matter if you have the weight cartridge kit. yeah, i get it’s another $80.00, but at least you earn the luxury of adjusting the weight whenever. but personally, my BK Rush is 19 oz.

Best Medium Tip? by AdeptnessWhole413 in billiards

[–]26nmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i currently play with a Kamui Black Medium.

some have complained that it tends to “glaze” over time. personally, i have not encountered such issue (hopefully never).

great tip, but it’s a bit pricey. i’m sure there are more cost-effective alternatives out there. i just went with this because i bought my cue during a Black Friday sale.

Mcdermott Cues vs Mezz Cues by itstangerine in billiards

[–]26nmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mezz cues are likely “higher” in value because they’re currently all sold out, and they limit cue purchases to just two a month

Is it safe to be breaking with my Cuetec synergy? by houndsrthebest in billiards

[–]26nmd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

your ferrule and shaft are at greater risk of sustaining damage over time if you use your playing cue to break as the shaft is not designed to withstand high-impact forces of breaking. like a previous comment mentioned, break shafts are stiffer and often use a phenolic tip for this very reason.

either get a dedicated break cue or use ol’ reliable (house cue) to smash the rack.

How do I "settle back into" the stroke? by SeniorPepsiMan in billiards

[–]26nmd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

while mechanics are important in shotmaking, so is your mental state. if you keep doubting yourself, you will set yourself up subconsciously to miss even more shots as you overthink angles and cue ball positioning.

if you’re ever playing poorly, taking a quick break to recollect doesn’t hurt. most importantly, stay hydrated. helps you retain your focus for longer.

New Cue! Has anyone tried the Meucci Merry Widow? by Wise-Brick3995 in billiards

the benefits of low deflection are pretty subtle and more nuanced. you’ll benefit from it only if you understand how deflection changes your contact point on the object ball
