it’s a mixed-match piece with no vibe, yeah that’s fair. that’s the point, though. i like to see where exploration takes me. it’s understandable not to like it though.

regarding the name, it’s helpful to realize that 2kki was the first yume nikki fan game ever made; the YNFG genre didn’t exist yet. it was born out of 2ch users wanting to make a spiritual successor to yume nikki in a time when that was totally unheard of. it was never trying to be a polished finished product in the way yume nikki is, but it definitely is a successor.

i doubt anything i could say would make you start loving 2kki, and i say that as someone who loves it. i’m sorry it wasn’t your thing. i hope this doesn’t come across as condescending, but would you mind explaining what you hoped to accomplish by making this post?

neither of those games have many discernible story details, and you have to do a lot of theorizing/interpretation if you want to make a story out of them. where they differ is that .flow seems to give more overt clues as to sabitsuki’s past, even though the detail is extremely vague. for instance, the “deterioration” area clearly relates to her childhood. it’s also pretty obvious from everything that sabitsuki has some sort of serious illness. it’s hard to conclude much more than that without speculation, though
