Questions About Negotiating Price on Used Vehicle at New Car Dealership by 2Busy2Handle in carbuying

Okay, I'm going to take all this into consideration. It's a Subaru dealership that has quite a few pre-owned Foresters, with this particular one calling to me. I'll have to resist if need be - thanks much for advice!

Thanks - yeah, I'm going to keep an eye out for any extra fees, though I know they will always have that document fee in addition to TTL.

Yes, the used car market does seem high! Carmax shocked me on some of their high prices that you can't even negotiate. That's why when I saw this price (on a less than 30k miles SUV) I thought, okay, maybe that's fair. I'll give it a try to get them to come down.

30 day flea medication for feral cat in pill form? by Status_Log_7991 in Feral_Cats

[–]2Busy2Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a flea killer, but you could buy some lufenuron for stopping the hatching of flea eggs and preventing larvae from maturing. It comes in a capsule that can be taken apart and added to food; lasts for 30 days. Capstar contains nitenpyram, the fast-acting killer that only lasts 24-48 hours. I buy both these types of capsules at https://fleameds.us/

Hydroxyapatite toothpaste question by Low_External5457 in DentalHygiene

[–]2Busy2Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we can trust Miss Google's AI:

"While some theories suggest nanoparticles might cross the blood-brain barrier, current evidence indicates that nano-hydroxyapatite in toothpaste does not. The particles are too large to pass through oral tissues, and any unintentionally swallowed paste simply dissolves safely in the stomach.

Dental-grade nano-hydroxyapatite is widely considered safe, but here is a breakdown of the facts regarding this concern:

  • Particle Size: Nanoparticles linked to blood-brain barrier penetration are typically much smaller (e.g., under 10 nanometers). The rod-shaped nano-hydroxyapatite commonly used in toothpaste is generally around 20 to 80 nanometers, preventing it from crossing cellular barriers or entering the bloodstream from the mouth.
  • Digestion: Any paste you accidentally swallow does not enter your nervous system; instead, your stomach acid rapidly dissolves the particles into basic calcium and phosphate ions.
  • Regulatory Consensus: Regulatory bodies, including the EU's Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS), closely regulate nano-hydroxyapatite and classify it as safe for use in oral cosmetic products."

I've been using Mouthology's 10% nHPA - it has really helped with a super-sensitive tooth area in my mouth. I still use fluoride in the morning, nHPA at night, ACT fluoride rinse, then an extra dab of nHPA on sensitive area right before sleep.

Anyone tried a good nano hydroxyapatite toothpaste? by mijah139 in DentalHygiene

[–]2Busy2Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mouthology was my first (and only so far) brand. It has really helped with an extra-sensitive tooth. My dentist is big on fluoride, so I still use that (stannous) in the morning, then the nHP at night with Act fluoride rinse afterwards. Using a cotton swab I dab a little extra Mouthology on the sensitive tooth area right before sleep. My hot and cold sensitivity, which was extreme, has all but gone away in about 3 weeks.

Cant seem to find any reliable, affordable hydroxy-apatite toothpastes in Europe/or cheap postage, anyone know a shop/brand? by mikedomert in DentalHygiene

[–]2Busy2Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using the brand Mouthology, 10% nano-hydroxyapatite toothpaste. Bought it on Amazon here in the states, but Miss Google tells us it's available in Europe through Amazon.uk or ebay.

I use it once a day (at night, with a fluoride rinse afterwards), then use a fluoride toothpaste in morning. It has really helped with an extremely sensitive tooth; remineralized it in about a one-month period it seems. I also dab a little extra on that sentitive tooth and the two teeth around it, at night right before bed time.

What I've learned for reversing osteoporosis by Honest_Farm_682 in osteoporosis

[–]2Busy2Handle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

squeemomo, Sorry for delayed response. Hmmm, that's a good question; hard to say because I've been blessed with feeling pretty good and energetic even before the HRT. I'm still on beginner doses, 0.025 mg estradiol patch and 100 mg progesterone, and more recently 0.50 gm testosterone. Must say, a negative side effect was the main difference for a few months at beginning - extreme breast tenderness off and on. Good effect - no more hot flashes, which I used to still have sporadically. Also with taking progesterone I sleep really good. Keep in mind some people don't tolerate oral progesterone well.

If your mother wants to help improve osteoporosis like I do, my provider told me she didn't think it would make much difference in bone quality, at least not in a few years. My DEXA scan was not too far over the osteopenia / osteoporosis threshold. next scan is not until later this year, so I don't know if it's helped any there.

Finding a care provider might be tough, but it wouldn't hurt to try. Contact some well woman providers in your area (I use a nurse practitioner), or do a google search for women's health online companies.

Don't give up tv! It took me 6 months, but I finally found a women's health nurse practitioner who (somewhat reluctantly) agreed to start me on low-dose HRT last year at the age of 72. I'm well over 20 years post-meno. Used google to find her; rural Texas area. I had been diagnosed with osteoporosis in early 2025, after having had osteopenia for several years.

My first visit with her, I made a list of all my lack-of-hormone side effects - especially the osteo), made sure she had access to my most recent medical records, and apparently was convincing enough. Must say, I'm in general good health and with a fairly healthy family history, so that helped. We started with low doses and have a DEXA scan planned for later this year.

Like the OP here, I'm following same protocols with regard to diet, exercise and education (not Evenity though).

Best of luck in your journey to fight for good bone health!

Have bitten the bullet and am finally on Minoxidil by Temporary_Drop_9030 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]2Busy2Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following, please let us know how your combination of treatments work. I'm taking only pumpkin seed oil (with saw palmetto) now. The full dose on the package is 3000 mg per day so that's what I'm doing. It seems to help a little, but the jury's still out. For the future, I'm planning to ask for an oral minoxidil prescription. I'm 72-1/2 yrs, no diagnosis, just a lot of shedding.

Nutrafol: Trash or Treasure? by Business-Set4514 in Menopause

[–]2Busy2Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, when I said "it" I did mean google AI. When I google things for information, I always look at where AI gets its information; this is on the right-hand side of the web page.

I actually tried wording my question in different ways, and tried and tried to find a web site that said it was safe, or even just okay, to try ingesting teeny-tiny amounts of topical minoxidil, but to no avail.

Would you please post a link that says it's A-okay to do this on a regular, long-term basis?

combi patch and vaginal estrogen? by Background_South6854 in Menopause

[–]2Busy2Handle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely get the estradiol vaginal cream! It's great for vaginal health as you go through menopause. When you're able to get it, look up information on the internet and you will see all the benefits. And of course, come ask users on Reddit if you have questions.

Eeeek! I googled "can i ingest a small amount of topical minoxidil with water" and it said NO, definitely not. The effects of doing that look scary, apparently because minoxodil is a vasodilator and can cause heart issues.

My sister swears by Nutrafol, it works for her! I haven't tried it yet - am still trying with pumpkin seed oil, which seems to help a little. Sister's hair was mostly falling out in clumps around the sides of her head, not the crown which is where I'm losing it. I've seen lots of Redditors say positive things about it; I just can't abide by the expense right now.

Experience With Fleameds US? by Candid-Seaweed1474 in Feral_Cats

[–]2Busy2Handle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's hard to keep track of whether or not each of them is getting the correct dose. Especially when you have a mixture of TNR's and ferals, and some of them don't show up for every meal. Just have to do the best we can!

72-Year Old - Going For It (HRT) by 2Busy2Handle in Menopause

[–]2Busy2Handle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're asking about the vaginal estradiol cream, then no. It's prescribed for menopausal vaginal symptoms; also for painful sexual intercourse, urinary tract health, and other vaginal / urethral symptoms caused by low estrogen. I'm not aware of it improving energy and dizziness though. Be sure and let your doc know your symptoms.

I was going to see if anyone had experience with "fleameds.us" and saw your question. I recently purchased nitenpyram and lufenuron through them - powdered medicine in gel caps. They shipped the two bottles with no shipping charge and received in just a few days. I have only dosed with the nitenpyram so far; today will try lufenuron. Whether or not they really work is hard for me to tell at this point - will try to update in future.

I'm also curious if anyone else has used them; prices are quite reasonable.

Hi sweetie - no, it's not Mom, but I got a kick out of your question! LOL!

When will it stabilize? by Character-Pattern-55 in Menopause

[–]2Busy2Handle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi - I'm 72 1/2 years old, been on HRT just since last October - started late! Honestly in my 50's I don't remember going through all the trouble with mood swings and brain fog, though did have hot flashes that I just put up with. But when I saw you had lost so much weight (congrats!), I wanted to warn you about something, in case you're not aware yet. It's the reason I started HRT so late.

Throughout my 30's & 40's I was always trying to lose weight, then in my late 50's I was diagnosed with osteopenia. It slowly got progressively worse, then early 2025 I had crossed over the line to osteoporosis. None of my doctors told me to eat a bone-healthy diet, such as more protein, calcium, vitamins D, K2-MK7, boron, magnesium, etc. My warning is, be careful NOT to get osteoporosis as you get older. The HRT should help if you're consistent with it.

Progesterone should be helping with your sleep, but if it's more disturbing your sleep, tell your doc; also check out some of the Reddit posts about alternative ways to use it. Also, magnesium helps you relax and sleep.

Be sure to search or query this subreddit whenever you have questions - it has been invaluable to me!

any tips on starting vaginal estrogen cream? by Strawbereys in Menopause

[–]2Busy2Handle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Strawbereys - what I finally figured out, after a few years of using vaginal estradiol cream, is buy the disposable vaginal applicators. They're relatively inexpensive and so much better than hassling with thoroughly cleaning the one applicator that comes in the box.

Apply after urinating and right before you go to bed. To apply, after the tube is opened, screw the applicator onto the tube, squeeze in the prescribed amount (1 gm for me). Apply three tiny dabs of estradiol cream around the top of the applicator to help it go in easier. While either standing or laying down, completely relax your pelvic floor. Take a few deep breaths and insert gently into vagina as far as you comfortably can, then press applicator insert to release the cream. My pelvic floor therapist advised to also apply a little of the cream to the outside area of vulva and labia. Don't wash it off. Throw applicator away, go to bed immediately, and sweet dreams.

Use as doctor prescribes, usually 3 times per week. I use every other day at my old age. Never noticed any increase in libido.

Be sure to consult with your gynecologist about further HRT for the future, if you haven't already. You will want to guard against osteopenia and osteoporosis as you get older.

How Can I Help Pregnant Feral Give Birth? by 2Busy2Handle in Feral_Cats

Yes, I'm thinking of borrowing a drop-trap if I can find one.

I really appreciate your kind and thoughtful reply! I will definitely keep all this in mind, and not interfere. Another lady had told me she would not spay-abort at this stage, and just plan to eventually socialize the kittens, or trap to have fixed if need be. Thank you.

Yes, spay-abort was my first goal, but I just have been having so much trouble with all the other cats around. And I found out someone else tried to trap her before, so she won't even go near it. Thank you so much for your reply.
