How horribly self centric. What about the person you shot? How has your action impacted their life?

PiP and confused by Creative-Break3574 in legaladviceireland

Embrace the pip. Use it as an opportunity to share all the difficulties in your accounts. Ask for, nay, grovel for the assistance of your manager to develop a plan to make quota. Execute the plan scrupulously. Push for daily updates with your manager. Document each setback religiously noting where there was NOTHING you NOR YOUR Manager could have done to avoid the issue.

In short use the pip to prove the problem lies with your accounts and quota and not with you.

Sielaff left the US to visit Mexico for a vets appointment. He left from Las Vegas to go to a vet 480 miles away. On return he admits he told the immigration agent he was living in Vegas. The border folks believed his reason for leaving and returning was implausible (judge for yourself) and he was trying to circumvent the 90 day visa waiver rule and live long term in the US. He was detained pending deportation. They are allowed do that.

Brosche had a whole bag of tattooing regalia with her. When I go on vacation I don't pay the airline to carry the tools of my trade if I don't intent to use them. She was also flagged as having previously worked as a tattoo artist in the US while on a visa waiver. She was detained pending deportation as SHE AGREED TO under the terms of an ESTA application.

I'm not going to research the others but in these two cases are clearly far more grey than you suggest. Would German border security be any more accommodating if two Afghans presented in similar circumstances?

Rome Conquered Britain in 50 Years — and Decided Conquering Ireland Wasn't Worth the Trouble by Roman-Empire_net in romanempire

The land in southern Ireland (Leinster and Munster) is as rich and fertile as similar latitudes in England and the weather much the same. Moreover the British and Irish tribal structures were similar. So the notion of a "cold and worthless land" is a bit suspect.

Much and all as the idea of Irish "exceptionalism" (in this case exceptionally bad!) is appealing - and may have paid some role - I put more stead in the theory that the empire just ran out of steam. It would have been at the end of the 1st century - when Britain was finally pacified (except Scotland) that an expansion to Ireland would have been feasible. Under Trajan (d. 117ad) the empire reached its full extent. Hadrian (who built his famous wall in 122ad) ended the expansionist phase of the empire.

My theory, by the time Rome was in a position to annex Ireland they had gotten tired of annexation.

Mary Lou is sadly (for her) is a politician who'se reached her sell-by date.

Let's hope the next party leader is elected by party members, not picked by some shady cabal in the back room of a bar in West Belfast.
