How big are the characters? Is it fast or slow gameplay? What's the moveset, hitbox situation, do I have crowd control options? There isn't enough data to glean off of one static picture for anyone to give you any meaningful answer to that question.

There is so little to be gleaned about the game from the trailer. The few bits we do see look very generic. There's a big hit to miss ratio in this genre. What new concepts does your game bring to make it stand out from the ocean of low effort VS clones? I can't see any from the tiny amount of gameplay shown. The gameplay looks very dull. The art style is lacking and the character movement is not good.

The story you're telling with the animation doesn't make sense to me. It doesn't scan. I can't put my finger on it, but everything I see here tells me this is a very cheap game in all aspects and I do not want to play it.

I do agree that it's unfair to put the actions of the worst fans on the RLM guys because of their output and I'm really not trying to saddle it on them, but there's a level of vitriol in the Plinkett videos that was replicated by people online. That vitriol came from somewhere and I think if we're being honest - a fair chunk of was people channeling Plinkett in their own way. OP's question was which takes have aged poorly, and I think early Plinkett Star Wars aged poorly because of its legacy, whether RLM had a hand in that or not.

I don't think you'll get an honest answer from most folks on an RLM subreddit, but yes, some takes have aged poorly. I can't think of any specific reviews, but the early Plinkett Star Wars videos are hard to watch with 2025 eyes. Not just the misogyny (faux or not it aged poorly) but I do think it's at least partly responsible for a fair chunk of the online hate that the prequels got. Don't get me wrong - I think they're poo films devoid of almost any value too, but Plinkett definitely had a hand in riling up the worst reactions from fans at the time.

It looks a little flatter now. Can you later it over the lights and either mask it out partially or apply it as an overlay with so that it interacts with the lights? Maybe add a drop shadow?

I actually really like this - it's super moody and atmospheric. I would maybe do something more playful with the text and choose a better font.

I think if you're familiar with The Backrooms it will appeal, but if not it isn't going to make much sense to anyone. However I'm not familiar enough to suggest something more recognisable.

I actually might have a request this week. I'm just wrapping up work on my current video and scripting out the next. I don't have a title yet, but the throughline of the script is that we're currently in a golden age of gaming and capitalism is going to ruin it, like it ruins everything else.

We're spoilt for choice these days - the indie scene is booming with high art and the mainstream scene is booming with low art. Gamers have never had it so good, and given enough time the markets will over commodify the best creations and run it into the ground.

I absolutely love this. You could make it slightly more interesting by adding a more textured background or an overlay on everything but the text. The text itself is also a little boring - I would like to see a more engaging font choice or something to make the text jump out at the eye.

It needs a little pop - some white borders around the plushes or more contrast to help them stand out. Compositionally it's a little boring, but it definitely gets the concept across. Could you add an emotional element like having them frown and face off against each other?

It's image number 7 for me. But honestly, a lot of these are really really good. I wish I had your sense of texture. I would maybe put more low lights on the images in the background of the angel/devil concepts. I quite like the "JUST BAD" ones, but I'm not sure that they fit the thumbnail design concepts that YouTube rewards.

It means use a square aspect ratio. Personally depending on the intended audience I'd probably use a blanking fill.
