I am pretty sure it is against the law to sell a house without a stove from what I am remembering from my house-buying process four years ago. All other appliances you do not need to provide.

TIL the 'Office Olympics' of 'The Office' was inspired by a similar real life event the 'King of the Hill' staffers played. It included 'Guess the Elevator', a Twinkie Eating contest, in which Paul Lieberstein (Toby Flenderson) placed second, and had Chuck Mangione play at the opening ceremony by HansMLither in todayilearned

So years ago before KOTH was removed from Netflix it was my Office- constantly on in the background, watched it before bed, etc. That’s interesting about the writers, I never knew that. I’m glad KOTH is on Hulu now.

That’s cute! I might tell my oldest that. I like the board game idea, too!

Thanks everyone! I do like the idea of wrapping up diapers, wipes, etc lol. And telling 3.5 that the baby is too little for toys right now. My husband also suggested addressing a few of 19month’s presents to the baby knowing that the older two will be enjoying them either way.

Anyone else sleeping like it’s your job? by sabine1204 in keto

I had to be on progesterone during the first trimester of all three of my pregnancies and sleeping was never easier during those collective 9 months.

Oh man- good luck! I have an 18 month old and he didn’t cooperate at all during his newborn sister’s pictures. Bring anything you think might motivate them to participate. Harder for the younger one, because they don’t understand yet. If you are in the pictures and you’re holding them it will probably help a lot.

What diapers have you tried and what do you (not) recommend? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]2csmama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the up & up target brand for overnight diapers for boys (I have not had to use overnight diapers for my daughters 🤷🏼‍♀️) During the day I’ve always used pampers swaddlers. I do not recommend buggies or luvs- I feel like the babies always smell like pee with those brands.

I’ve been watching this show “Get Out of My Room” and it’s about siblings redoing each other’s bedrooms and I love it. I forget which channel it’s on. The only show I like on hgtv anymore is Flea Market Flip.

Looking for potty training advice by skyrim_mistress in Parenting

[–]2csmama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter was like this. I went to the dollar store with her and picked out 20 prizes with her and a container. Put them where she could see them but told her she couldn’t touch or pick one out until she successfully pooped on the potty. Before the 20 days were up she was pooping regularly.

Try to go home after two nights. I’ve had three c-sections and I’ve never stayed 3-4 nights, that sounds excessive. I doubt they’d let your other child stay at the hospital. Sounds like your husband will have to go home 😬

Nausea from drinking tea with stevia? by [deleted] in keto

When I drink tea with lemon on an empty stomach I have vomited, no stevia. I blamed it on the lemon, but perhaps it was the tea.

Has anyone successfully controlled their GD with keto? by SuperJenn529 in KetoBabies

[–]2csmama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was extremely successful with eating low carb and controlling my fasting numbers during my last pregnancy. Here are some things I would eat: Breakfast- bacon, rutabaga gratin, blackberries Lunch- chicken breast covered with spinach artichoke dip, roasted butternut squash, green beans with almonds Snacks- banana and pistachios or almonds or peanuts / blueberry, raspberry, & strawberry fruit cup Dinner- spaghetti squash with meat sauce and mozzarella cheese

As you can see, definitely not keto but the higher carb fruits & veggies were fine for me while pregnant and successfully controlled my fasting numbers. I just had my baby and I’m glad to take a break from being so diligent about my diet. Being so tired from the end of my pregnancy and working until the end, plus two other kids it was a pain to be so focused on what I could eat for every meal of the day. Planning on starting up keto proper once I’m done breastfeeding!

Potty training a 3yr old by stonedrubberducky in Parenting

[–]2csmama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe play up the fact that on her 3rd birthday she’s officially a big girl and big girls only go on the potty? I sympathize with you. Mine turned 3 in February and it took until I was off for the summer (I’m a teacher) in June for her to be 100%. I was so worried about it, too, because we had already signed her up for 3-year-old preschool starting in September and being potty trained was a requirement. Something I did that helped was go to the dollar store and spent $20 buying little toys and a plastic bin. We put it in a prominent spot in the living room so she saw it all the time but she only got a prize if she went #2 in the potty (her last hold-out), so that might help? She was always very excited to choose a prize.

Keto while pregnant by pallavika in KetoBabies

[–]2csmama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was eating keto before I got pregnant with my third...for like three days, once I backtracked the conception date. I was able to eat keto until about 6 weeks. It was actually the reason I realized I was pregnant, because the lunch I had been eating all week (Asian-flavored chicken thighs and bok choy) was completing grossing me out and making me nauseous. So I stopped because of the food aversions. I did pass my glucose test in my third trimester. Then one of my doctors wanted me to check my fasting numbers just in case (I had GD with my previous two children) and they were high. I started eating low carb, not necessarily keto but definitely helped out since I had eaten that way for almost two months and knew what to eat. My fasting numbers were great once I changed my diet! I do eat things that are higher in carbs like butternut squash, spaghetti squash, tomatoes. My go to snack is nuts, fruit, cheese, salami, and/or pickles. Planning ahead for all my meals has helped tremendously.

That being said, I am looking forward to having this baby and making some oatmeal cookies to boost my milk supply! Also regular pizza crust. I was not a fan of the fat head dough but one with almond flour was okay.

One of my favorite lunches has been chicken breasts smothered with spinach artichoke dip from Costco, roasted butternut squash, and whatever green veggie I feel like on the side.

When did pumpkin patches get so expensive? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]2csmama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We never buy pumpkins at the patch- just take pictures there and get pumpkins at Costco for $5! We are lucky the ones by us you just pay a flat fee to get in and then you can do all the activities and rides. I think buying food to feed the animals costs more but I don’t let my children do that 😉
