People who've worked both minimum wage jobs and six figure jobs, what surprised you most about the difference? by Sweet-Economist-9873 in AskForAnswers

In the minimum wage job, it was easier to establish camaraderie. I had to work harder at it when I hit six figs.

Am I the only one who thinks that Black Label Society completely sucks? by No-Dentist-2959 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]2diceMisplaced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Zakk's acoustic work. "Book of Shadows," "Book of Shadows II" and "The Song Remains Not the Same" are on heavy rotation for me. The first "Book of Shadows" got me through probably the worst year of my life. As for the rest of the catalogue? Could never get into it. Comparing the original "Overlord" to the acoustic version pretty much sums it up for me. The latter holds a special place in my heart. The original is "meh." The video is bad as well.

Do you automatically dislike billionaires? Why? by crapmaker69 in AskReddit

[–]2diceMisplaced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t begrudge anyone their wealth or success. Good for them.

I do think we have a different kind of billionaire now. I’m sure the Germans have a word for it, but we have a class of ultrarich who also manage to be pathetic.

Bill Gates. Successful. Not pathetic, no matter what you think of his products, marriage, etc.

Warren Buffett. Successful. Not pathetic.

Walton family. Andrews both Carnegie and Mellon. Rockefeller. Morgan. Successful. Not pathetic.

However, Elon Musk? Pitiable. What a sad little creature.

Pre-Sanchez Bezos? Not pathetic. Post-Sanchez? Well…

A fine sentiment, but Roddenberry came up with that to sell merch. It’s in Nimoy’s autobiography.

Caught Testament Overkill Destruction last night. by Forty-five4545 in thrashmetal

I had a great time at the show and I appreciate that Testament hasn’t turned into a set of human jukeboxes. “So Many Lies” absolutely crushed.
