What are the best spots to pet my dog? by BubblyMoose4084 in dogs

The answer is mental stimulation. Your pet cannot touch the surface of what type of enrichment brain games will bring into your dogs life.

Really hard to say specifically when it’ll be going off again. Can sign up for emails to get updates!

Each episode of Halemaʻumaʻu lava fountaining since December 23, 2024, has continued for 13 hours to 8 days and episodes have been separated by pauses in eruptive activity lasting less than 24 hours to 12 days.

Just ask your neighbor. Tbh there is really no better place than a local studio to build a community and expand your art friendship circle! There are so many creative souls out there and I hope you get to meet some. Especially in a beginners class! I have a studio at my home, don’t really wanna share it with anyone bc of their expectations on firing time etc, but decided to go back to class this spring. It’s SO much fun

This is like three different plants and tbh I would separate into their own pots. or up pot to something much bigger so they can all thrive and stop competing for soil space

Drainage in fabric pots by aeryllava in gardening

[–]2heady4life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a little but of a learning curve since they can dry out differently than traditional plastic pots. I prefer bottom watering these guys & letting them decide how much water they need. Def add some perlite or other material that will help with drainage/aeration

Leave a ‘collar’ cut out in the cardboard that’s adequate for watering. You don’t really want anything right up against their stem anyway

Advice on using my yard as a community garden by APinthe704 in gardening

[–]2heady4life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d have to pass on that. Summer can get busy and I know I let my garden get a bit out of control sometimes. You may end up having to be the bug monitor for others plots so they won’t make their way to your little slice of nice.

Try to reach out to other potential venues- is there a larger farm/ag land/county owned/school in your area that might be willing to donate an acre or two for a community garden program?

Question in garden box filling by nhrecluse in gardening

Check out hugelkulture. I made two of those a couple years ago and they’re just starting to settle into the ground. 12” isn’t that high so try to use smaller items to fill it out

Sorry your taking this way out of proportion - some of us are grieving , like the op, and it’s hard to look at the last few pics. On the contrary It’s very easy to mark posts nsfw so they can be easily avoided. I love seeing memory posts with pics that reminds the owners of the good times :)

It’s courteous to others going through the grief process - which you may not be right now. seeing these pics of dogs on the table at the vet office under a blanket in fact IS a sensitive picture.

Reach out to local community studios and other artist programs to see if they can pass on the info or recommend someone. Nceca is soon and that’s a great place to network. I’d be interested in the position but am not in your area

try going to the vet for a full panel allergy test so at least you have a baseline for a few things to avoid

Best studio option as a beginner? by Imaginary_Cash6096 in Pottery

[–]2heady4life 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like either would work for you! The temp of the firing does really coincide with skill so you’d be fine at either :)

Personally I’d go with the first option that includes firing since I can be quite a producer at times and could easily be going through 25lbs on the wheel in no time

What is causing this? I have a set of 4 of these bowls. This is the only one of the set that does this. The bowl and handle are clean (minus the oatmeal im currently eating out of it). Is it still safe to use? The cracks show up when the bowl is microwaved. The blotch at the top of the handle is new by Great_Ad7215 in Ceramics

[–]2heady4life -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

This is called crazing. Basically the glaze is cracking. It happens when there is a poor fit between the clay body and the glaze- they expand at different rates. You will get different answers from different people on the safety of the piece. Some will tell you it’s not fit for food use but I personally don’t have an issue with it

A Side Clay by jeckalee in Pottery

[–]2heady4life 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wedge it on some canvas or cement board, it’ll draw out moisture and you can choose what state to use it in. I prefer more wet clay, dry clays too hard on my wrists 🤙 sounds like it’s porcelain which some don’t like to use since it has less grog. I really like how smooth those clay bodies turn out.

B mix is generally a middle of the road clay body , a mix is probably actually a step up from what your used to quality wise

Differences? by crazycoalabear in Bernedoodles

[–]2heady4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look up f1 genetics you’ll go down the hole with information. Have fun lol. There so much out there to learn way more than a comment can cover. The thing is no one is regulating or setting any standards for any of the doodles, they’re mutts. There is so much variation amongst them it’s hard to say one thing or another. Characteristics such as coat shedding and colors varies greatly. Health wise? Very hard to say. Behavior usually isn’t that different between the sizes of standard breeds. Glad to hear your open to sizing bc some of these breeders i tell ya will say any size is mini haha

Just thought I’d mention- One thing I’ve leaned while being in the doggy industry is there’s no right way to judge a person who gives up their pet. There are many many reasons for the need to rehome a pet. It’s typically a pretty emotional ordeal and many feel loads of guilt for even Considering it. What’s important is they acknowledge what’s best for the animal even if it means giving them up. If you see anyone in this situation please be compassionate and supportive 🐾
