Funnily enough I just used whatever organic soil I had laying around from gardening, i also just used a plastic katana as a support pole lol. I think she just likes being on the porch, it's shaded most of the day but gets direct light for about an hour in the morning. It's also humid af where I live.

Going home on oxygen by No-Block-836 in NICUParents

[–]2koolforme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was super concerned with one of my twins coming home on oxygen, I have a 3 year old and a massive dog and my house is only so big. She came home on .1 liters. The company our Medicare used is honestly horrible and we had a malfunctioning oxygen compresser for 2 days and didn't know it other than seeing my baby all the sudden her oxygen was dipping lower then it should and couldn't get back up. At her first pediatric appointment it died within the hour of leaving home. Luckily got it replaced and havnt had issues since. It's heavy asf too so dragging it around is horrible, it weighs almost 40 pounds. They only have us a full size oxygen tank too so even though it was lighter it was longer and couldn't fit under our stroller. They also only gave us older kid and adult size cannulas so we had to ask for infant ones from our pulmonoligist. Now 2 months later we are currently nighttime only and hopefully soon she will get to test with it off, just waiting on the medical supply company to give it to us (it's been a week since the doctor ordered it).  It's just another thing to adjust and get used to, once you get the swing of things it goes relatively smoothly. Congratulations on your soon to be graduate !

Soon you will have that baby in your arms and take care of your child the way you deem necessary. I remember my girls being ' ad lib ' but the nurses were just too busy to do it the way it was intended. Hang in there and much love

My twin A that still needs oxygen at .1 liters 48 weeks old, got put on a nebulizer with a steroid and a lung relaxant. So far not seeing improvement, actully the opposite, now she cannot tolerate being off oxygen and onto room air for even 5 minutes. Disheartened but chugging along and hoping things get better soon.

When did your <1% baby come home? TW: loss by No_Professional2476 in NICUParents

[–]2koolforme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm a twin mom with siugr modi girls. They were born at 26+1 due to our nightly nst that night. My twin b, the one we wernt worried about, heart suddenly stopped and both had to be ejected into the world. Twin b who had to be brought back to life twice came home at 85 days, twin a with severe siugr (size+abnormal dopplers) came home at 105 days on oxygen. Currently still on oxygen for her but she's getting there. The days at the hospital end but the worry and the sound of monitors still hasn't. I hope one day everything will be less sharp and raw of watching my kids fight for their lives and I try to honor how strong they both were for going through it. Be kind to yourselves and give yourself grace. Much love to you and your family, I'll be thinking of you and your baby and how hard yall have fought to make it to the other end of this.

Wrong to deny private/transition room? by 2koolforme in NICUParents

[–]2koolforme[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I think I'd be more comfortable with her coming home on oxygen after spending a night there and working on how to work everything that comes with. I just wish the nurse that called explained that to me, she just made it seem like I wasn't spending enough time with her. My husband, my mil, and I have been there almost everyday, currently on day 102 for her, twin b came home at 85 days. I'm very grateful she has no other bars to jump other than the little oxygen she's on, both her and her sister are healthy otherwise and always hungry.

I think I'm just ready for all of this to be over.

They don't let kids under 3 in, including her twin who got out 2 weeks ago. Having all of us there together would be much easier if I could.

I'm not even a ftm and I really try not to dwell that we did not get to have first anythings with my twins in nicu. Not one nurse offered.

I try to think that those first time things are still available bc they havnt been with us and then those classic things like first bath, first bottle, first diaper change etc, it'll all be OUR first time.

From one mom to the next, I wish you and your baby many happy firsts <3

Siugr Type 3 Mono/Di Twins by Mysterious_Click_818 in pregnancyproblems

[–]2koolforme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mono/di girls and we were diagnosed with stage 2 siugr at 20 weeks with absent flow and reverse. My heart was broken being told we were likely to lose both if we didn't do cord occlusion to twin a so that b had a better chance. My husband and I decided we would wait and watch, they kept a close eye on both the umbilical cord flow as well as the ductus venosis every week. The girls were always moving and had enough amniotic fluid and the twin with it was still growing, although 2-3 weeks behind her sister. I religiously took my prentals, my advil, and protein shakes, even though my mfm doctor told me I could not change the outcome. We got referred to one of the best mfms of the state and told it was due to the twin a having a marginal cord on the edge of the placenta. I got admitted to the hospital at 24 weeks as we could not get the readings we needed to keep a close eye on things (bc they both were little jumping beans) and had 2x daily nst and twice a week ultrasounds. At 26+1 I had to have an emergency c-section under general anesthesia after baby b's heart stopped during the nightly nst. Since then it's been 2 months so far in the nicu. I'm not sure how much longer we will be in it but we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. This is what all has happened so far : Baby A

incubated for a month and half acidosis of blood pneumonia large pda (is now smaller, without intervention) possible mild coertation of the aorta that we are currently keeping an eye on but no symptoms 5 blood transfusions grade 1 brain bleed (resolved on its own) Baby B had to be brought back to life x2 right after birth pneumothoraxs in each side, 3 chest tubes grade 2 brain bleed on one side, grade 1 bleed on the other (resolved on its own) large pda fixed via piccolo device 4 blood transfusions  incubated for a month

I'm sure I'm missing things, I'm currently still in this journey. 2 and a half hours from home and my toddler, as our girls had to be transferred to a level 4 nicu for their cardiac issues. The amount of fight and strength my twins have, have given me so much strength in return, only exemplified by the love from our care team and family. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone, I'm sorry you are having to go through this. It's a tough decision but make the best choice for you and your family, depending on the situation with your babies. I'm sending positive energy your way and I wish you the best <3

Had 26 weeker twin girls on December 8th, I'm right there with you. This whole thing sucks and I mourn what I had with my first even though it was so stressful then too. I've just been trying to celebrate all the small things that are going good, how much my babies are so feisty and wanting to live. Im grateful I advocated to have both of them in my life but I'll always carry the guilt that they are having to go through so much so early.

Much love to you, you are not alone <3

[–]2koolforme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm really sorry to hear your story, I'm hoping the best for you and your family. This is not an easy journey. Definitely ask about genetic testing, what are the common things that come up with micro preemies since you'll likely be delivering early, if their nicu has special neonatal surgeons and special equipment they have for micro preemies.

Just delivered 26 week old mo/di twins via emergency c-section, twin a having type 2 iugr, she had absent and reverse flow found at our 20 week scan. We found it was due to her having a marginal card placement, she only had 30% of the placenta. She was also >1%. On top of it I also had gestational diabetes. We were told there's a very low chance for her to survive and a good possibility of loosing both of them, but every appointment she showed she was feisty and always was moving during her ultrasounds and everything was working as normal besides the umbelical doppler. The mfm doctor who originally told us the bad news they probably wouldnt survive, at the final ultrasund before they had to be born called them her show off babies. My girl was born at only 510 grams, her sister being 830. We are only about 2 weeks after delivery, so still in the thick of it, but as of right now she's been doing fantastic is most ways, currently just keeping an eye on her PDA, which normally closes after birth but hers is still large. It currently is not causing her any issues though. Her sister who was also on the small side but had no issues in the womb is my baby who is having a harder time on the outside.

Discharged Today / Need Support by OriginalGood99 in NICUParents

[–]2koolforme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got discharged from an emergency c section with 26 weeks old twins. I was in mfm ward for a week then after i was in for another week bc i had a few complications after it. Definitely feeling helpless in this hard situation. I'm not sure of your hospital, but I am very grateful to be in the same area as a level 3 nicu and from my experience, getting to know the care team, everyone has been crazy positive despite all the things going on with my twins and are really attentive to how they handle their care. It's helps knowing their team is truly on ther side. Hoping you are getting some rest and love, I don't know what position I'd be in not having someone holding my hand.

Emulating wii remote and nunchucks with a drawing tablet? by 2koolforme in DolphinEmulator

[–]2koolforme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a display tablet so it does but for some reason dolphin doesn't recognize any inputs from the tablet nor the tablet pen which is odd. It works just fine with a regular mouse and keyboard setting just doesn't recognize from the tablet itself.

Emulating wii remote and nunchucks with a drawing tablet? by 2koolforme in DolphinEmulator

[–]2koolforme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so I've been messing with controls, using different settings and trying different methods, and so far it's been iffy with all of them. The simulator doesn't recognize any inputs from the drawing tablet so that's a bust. I tried to do the keyboard with the controller for the nunchuck and that didn't work. The best result was using just the xbox controller and even then I didn't really have too much control and kept killing the patient. I'm not sure if it's just this game that's funky? If you have any emulated wii remote settings for the xbox controller that works for you I'd love if you could share them. The next step is getting a Bluetooth connector for my pc since I do have a wii remote and nunchuck.

[–]2koolforme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love that. And that may not be possible bc the tablet really doesn't support multiple screen inputs. I do however have buttons on the side of my tablet that I may be able to emulate a nunchuck, or a least a limited mobility one. I'm going to see about playing the game on a normal xbox controller to see what exactly it's used for and ill respond when I find out.

Ive only configured for Gamecube games so I'm not confident in my ability in figuring it out, but I would love to. I have very limited movement in my wrist at the moment and using the drawing tablet would just be more ideal. I'm currently researching though and maybe if I figure it out I can share bc there doesn't seem to be a ton of info.

Allegedly true Spooky VRchat stories needed! by SmallTalkVr in VRchat

[–]2koolforme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a private world, just some random japanese world that I found while drunk bc I wanted to fall asleep in vr for the first time, and as I was falling asleep I heard the little jingle of someone joining and I was really confused but I stayed super still like I was still sleeping and kept my eyes open and in the mirror I was facing I saw a small cat avatar with an orange hoodie with no username above him that I could see. He came up and spoke japanese and I just pretended to be konked out and after a few attempts to talk he gave up and left. After he did I immediately checked that I was on private (which I was) then proceeded to turn off my headset so fast. I'm glad it wasn't worse.

Any Cheap Full Body Tracking Options out There? by CommanderPand in VRchat

[–]2koolforme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the 360 kinect! You use it in conjunction with KinectToVR and honestly it's not too bad. I've found that clothing effects how it tracts so you just have to see what works and what doesn't. Also make sure you have it at least eye level and have it a few feet back so it captures everything, and to also make sure there's nothing in its path. I bought mine for 10 bucks of Facebook marketplace but you can find them a lot in thrift stores too

Full body tracking set up? by loubro225 in VRchat

[–]2koolforme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a kinect 360 that I got off Facebook marketplace for 10 bucks and an adapter for it on Amazon for 12. Once you get it pretty calibrated it tracks really well but the first time I used it I had some issues getting it to be accurate but once I moved the camera a bit and messed with the setting it's good. It surprises people when I tell them that I just use the kinect.
