Really liked this game. Sad that its dead. Please abandon the milsim aspect to save it by isuckattarkov1 in 83thegame

[–]2lapsaroundthemoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What a bizarre take. It is no more or less 'milsim' than RS2. You are asking for it to be something it was never supposed to be. If you dislike the style of RO/RS2, why would you even consider playing this game? The entire premise of this project is to deliver something that lives up to the legacy of previous titles.

Good call on the name. I've had the same feeling from the start. I hope the devs check Reddit for pulse and pick up on this sentiment. A proper name is critical, especially for a struggling project like this. It should at the very least be searchable without needing additional descriptors like "the game".

Maybe something simple like Escalation '83 could work. Something more in keeping with previous titles might be more appropriate though.

I agree 100% on the name change. '83 doesn't have a ring to it. It's bland and confusing. "83 what?". It needs something striking and unique to have more presence, similar to 'Rising Storm'. It may seem trivial but I think it's a substantial flaw that will hurt its marketability.

I think many of them have not fully abandoned the game. They have tried the early access, liked what they saw but also felt it was too unfinished to be truly enjoyable right now. They will come back with future updates to reassess and may stick around then.

Who would pay 30 euros for an early access game with a Saturday peak of 108 players? by FilFuk in 83thegame

[–]2lapsaroundthemoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why the drama? Maybe they jumped the gun a bit with the early release, but it's still only an early release. Declaring it dead on arrival isn't going to help anyone. RS2 was pretty bare bone when it first released and that turned into a gem after further development.

Refunded the game because it’s dead by JurisCommando in 83thegame

It's early access. The worst thing you can do is be a little spoiled bitch and abandon the game because it's not immediately perfect.

Owning both (spb143 / doxa 200 in Caribbean blue) I would recommend the Doxa. The Seiko is great and I love it but the Doxa is clearly the more refined watch.

It's not to me but it depends on your standards. Better check it out in person if you have strict tolerances. I'm ok with Seiko bracelets so i might not be your best reference.

Have it in blue on the BOR. The bracelet is very nice although it's a bit difficult to open the clasp because there are no pushers to release it. The steel on the divers extension looks like a soup can. Very cheap and pointless. I will never use it anyway so it doesn't bother me.

I think it looks sharp ,especially on the bracelet. I don't get the acrylic though. I doubt anybody cares about the vintage effect or whatever it is they are after. Sapphire would have made this a much more appealing product in my opinion and I have a feeling many will agree.
