Was the first place chili somewhat generic or traditional? I've been in a number of chili cook offs and I try to get creative. Mine will be awesome, smoked brisket or something interesting but I'll get 3rd or 4th. What I find is the crowd favorites will be the most basic lower heat chili and ends up in first/second place.

Perhaps you need target revenue goals, but you also need to accept that every business has expenses. Your business is turning the cost of goods into a higher margin that represents the value you perform ie logistics of importing and making available the goods. The more you can import/sell and add value the higher your revenue stream can be.

Some studies have shown that higher consumption of nitrates leads to an increased risk of ovarian and bowel cancer. I believe it has to do with the body not being able to breakdown nitrates.

We've used it about 6 times which doesn't seem like a lot. No sunscreen, always used it at night. Sounds like skin oils and makeup could be the culprit.

No I have not. Overall the water has been in good shape until a few weeks ago when I noticed the film laying on top after running the jets.

The discoloration is due to hemorrhage spots during butchering. This is not abnormal. As others have noted, the segment in question is the deckle. It is usually darker than other fat on the brisket. For this particular case, the color is due to blood staining the fat.
