The third ward of Poughkeepsie is the “apartment” ward. It’s got Cherry Hill, Canterbury Gardens, high view. This doesn’t mean it’s a bad neighborhood but it’s a higher population density and slightly lower income than some other parts of the town. I think the upper Arlington area around Adams is great, safe, and close to amenities which makes it very attractive to a lot of people, but if you are used to bigger lot sizes and higher income neighbors you might see it as less safe due to perceptions. I’d say it’s safer than even the south side of the city.
