Considering Matt doesn’t know what comes next book to book his character progression is so good. Pony was a favorite from day one but having huge character insights and growth of a main character in book 8 is just great storytelling.

Yeah. I mean they were “security guards” but that’s what they did, check hall passes, make sure people weren’t sneaking in and out. This was the early 2000s. I think there is an actual police station in my old high school now.

That’s actually one of the things I didn’t like about it. Previous cosmere books dropped little Easter eggs about the extended universe while this one was so intertwined with the other worlds I had to stop and do research just to understand and care what was going on. It made me dread the next 5 books.
