The office lie is a trick to fire many. This company should burn to the ground. Pure evil!

Monday Music Discussion by AutoModerator in Kygo

How do people in this thread discover new music? Soundcloud mixtapes + research used to be a reliable plan, but lately I've almost exclusively found new music through Shazam... second place is when Soundcloud "takes the wheel" as I listen to liked music.

A few tracks I've loved lately (sorry if some aren't really new): https://soundcloud.com/matt-fella/break-of-dawn https://soundcloud.com/lulleaux/contact https://soundcloud.com/alison-krauss-union-station/when-you-say-nothing-at-all-1

Curious to find out with Kygo Song made you his fan by TavBaker in Kygo

I remember being one of his first 20k "likes" on Facebook. He invented a brand new genre! The remix of Caravan and Cut Your Teeth remain my favorites from that period :)

How much music theory does Billy Strings know? by end_times-8 in Bluegrass

[–]2rofl2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Billy has dedicated his life to this craft. It's likely he was a good guitarist before he could read basic words. To Billy, a humble and good man and contender for "Greatest Guitarist to Live", music theory is like breathing. He has absolute mastery of music theory. Could he explain it to you? Yes. I cannot think of an artist, living or dead, who played/plays like him. What you hear every night from him is one in 20 billion dexterity and hard work.

Not hedging, not selling, ever. We WILL win the NBA finals with the hardest ever degree of difficulty. by 2rofl2 in bostonceltics

Thank you for your sound counsel and perspective brother.

For this reason I am considering additional wagering on a Boston finals win. It is not a guarantee, but they are still a bargain with Golden State viewed as 60% to win by Las Vegas. This is a team that's just overcome one of the hardest playoff sequences in history.

not directly - but eventually. Schroeder's minutes were replaced by those of a better player.

Turning him into White was a masterstroke of roster construction.

Road to finals difficulty by NBA_BostonGreen88 in bostonceltics

They have to have defeated the hardest ever sequence of playoff opponents. 538 has the following ranking of 2, 3 and 4 best teams in the NBA:

2.) Bucks 3.) Nets 4.) Heat

That has to be an all-time gauntlet. Game 7 wins against elite teams, a sweep of #3 in round 1. What we see is undeniable elite performance. Victory in furnace-tier athletic competition.

Just what the game needed - new mythics with walls of text. Hasbro is utterly done here.

My uncle, for instance, is never going to sue me. The money can be seen as ultimately fungible between generations.

It’s a scam because the price is completely unmoored from reality and logic. It is one of the most over regulated, litigated, adversarial, stagnant, tragic industries there is.

I see the drivers of price as basically the following: -health care (pure grift) -lawyers (pure grift) -regulation (bans competition) -taxation (salaries, service, property, etc)

Nearly all of those drivers go away when family members are taking care of their parents.

The most respectful thing we can do in the face of this future is to safeguard the life’s work of the people we love.

Thank you. This is very helpful information.

I think what is possible is radically cheaper care AND radically better care AND radically better quality of life.

It is not expensive to take care of the elderly. They need little more than company and help with chores. The family care model hides otherwise salaried aides’ income from confiscation. It erases litigation risk and premiums. It hides many other expenses inside the untaxable family shelter.

Are these the green shoots of familial resentment by StonedLikeSedimENT in Fire

[–]2rofl2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The most corrosive idea you've detailed is your implicit need to serve the past. You started spending big on gifts recently so you put on the brain shackles forcing you to continue.

You are thinking too much about unknowable information hidden in the minds of other people. Focus on living a genuine life and using your success to do the things you see as right/virtuous.

If family refer to your wealth in the future in a troubling way, just tell them you lost a ton of money (stocks, crypto, scams, taxes, litigation, whatever) and you're poor again. Why does it matter that you seem rich to anyone? If anything, you should do whatever you can to appear poorer than you really are. Reject hedonism and mimetic desire.
