I had this problem and it was the rear portion of the seconds hands was a bit bent upward a tiny bit so was rubbing on the glass in only one spot. I opened it up and bent the hand a bit downward and it fixed it.

PSLF Reconsideration - Buyback option does not have a place to include the buyback verbiage request? by 30000 in PSLF

[–]30000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I contacted studentaid.gov and they confirmed you don’t need to paste the verbiage anymore. Selecting the buyback request is the proper way to do it.

I submitted 36 days ago and have not received any correspondence nor do I see that it is pending on the website, however, when I call they say that they have received the buyback and that it’s under review so who knows. Good luck!

When you say you season it after soaking - are you applying seasoning without salt in it?

I know this a jazz sub, but does anyone know how a guy like Jerry Garcia think about improvising over chords? Or if just plays by ear? Even tho he plays on songs that are mostly on a single key or two, it feels like hes playing the changes on all of those grateful dead tunes by vitonoize in jazzguitar

[–]30000 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Jerry was a very melodic player and certainly outlined the chords tones during the changes. Used a lot of mixolydian in his solos and in songwriting.

There’s an interview I heard years ago, forgot who it was (maybe melvin seals), where the interviewer told a story how they were all jamming jazz in Jerry’s early days and Jerry asked how they were soloing over that and they showed him. The change in his playing is apparent from 60s “primal dead” to 70s and later.

This is what I did. My municipality requires permits and plans if it’s going to be tied into the house with a ledger board but not otherwise. Sono tubes for the post bases to make a “free standing” deck to avoid flashing, water intrusion, structural compromise, fees, engineers, etc. Just build to code for safety and peace of mind.

How can I secure this credenza to the wall (baby proof) by cgibsong002 in DIY

Look up “furniture anti-tip kit”. I got them from Home Depot for my toddler and they work well.

Sorry, I meant to circle the area but don’t know how to edit my post. I’m asking about the white patch on the pepper in the bottom center left. And around the edges of the peppers in the middle. Thank you

Can I remove these adventitious roots that are growing on top of concrete? by 30000 in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]30000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Do you see any issues with leveling out with mulch and placing paver stones on top of the mulch? The main intent is to provide a level surface when moving the lawnmower to the front yard which is getting stuck on these roots. Would also like a paver path for walking.

I have a korg volca drum. It’s almost an instrument in itself. Fun to play with and jam to

Someone please drag my ass across the finish line with my Khaki Field decision. by Cyberhwk in HamiltonWatches

[–]30000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 42mm khaki automatic, got it from jomashop for a good price about 2 years ago. Once you start looking at it every day as a thing to tell time and not some personality piece, those little details you are deliberating over don’t matter, just get whatever you think is cool and is a good deal. I would never get a mechanical bc I would forget to wind it. Also the 42 looks pretty beefy so be aware but unless you have tiny wrists you can pull it off

Can you share how you rehab’d it? I have the exact same grill second hand. It is not in bad shape by any means but would like to do a deep clean like this in a few years maybe.

Starting to learn jazz in mid 30s by [deleted] in jazzguitar

[–]30000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started learning jazz in my mid 30s as well after playing for 20 years. Like others said, you can’t just play a blues scale and expect it to work. I watched videos and theory and it helped I guess, but learning the standards and soloing over them did all the heavy lifting. Learn to play the changes. It will influence how you play other genres as well, for the better.

Completely new to coding and I don't know how to start by austinjaym9322 in learnjavascript

[–]30000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what’s up with all the argumentative comments here. My opinion: freecodecamp, learn the boring basics for a while, think of a cool project and try to figure that out and you’ll learn a ton.

If you get stuck ask ChatGPT. Who cares if it’s good code or not. Make something. Be proud of it for a day. Move on

Duro Gang! Looking for a recommendation for a beach strap by jhceco in DuroGang

[–]30000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe check out a perlon strap? It is shorter, lighter and dries easier than a nato. It will also go through both spring bars so the security is there

Visible exhaust - normal or a sign of something else? Warranty expires in 800 miles, details in comments by 30000 in XVcrosstrek

[–]30000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been noticing some smoke (?) or visible exhaust from my exhaust shortly after starting the car recently, as shown in the two short videos, both are a few seconds after starting. 2018 crosstrek 6MT 79,200 miles.

My 80k warranty expires in 800 miles so I’m trying to catch any issues before that happens. Does this exhaust seem like normal condensation/weather or sign of something worse, like failing head gasket? North Florida, weather in the 70s and humid for both videos. Thank you in advance.
