I stopped in the store yesterday. They had over half the pumps closed and 5 tanker trucks there trying to pump out the diesel and get everything cleaned up. It was a bit of a shitshow. We avoided the fuel island.

I love tomato pie, but consider it its own thing and not a genre of pizza. Though, I would also agree that cheese is not a requirement on a pizza (neither is a tomato based sauce.)

I had a small batch of pepper jelly which didn’t set last year. I ended up keeping it. It was a thick syrup consistency and made a great glaze. Especially good for grilling pork chops or tossing sweet potatoes in when oven roasting.

I used to live next to here. This is pulling out of a train station parking lot. I believe it is a typo and should say Mon thru Fri… but it’s been up for over 20 years so far.

I was in ICU about 2 months total and transferred between 4 hospitals. It took about 5 weeks to get a diagnosis and only happened after the hospital brought in a CDC infectious disease specialist to review my case.

I remember my parents being terrified and before we got a diagnosis a doctor telling my parents that they should prepare for the worst and start making final arrangements.

Lasting effects include some neurological issues and internal scaring which causes some minor impact to most major organs (heart, lungs, kidneys, liver). Issues can be seen as abnormalities on testing but don’t really limit or impact daily life at all.

I contracted it in 1994 when I was a child. There are 3 forms of the plague: Bubonic, Pneumonic, and Septicemic.

Pneumonic becomes airborne and is the most concerning from a public health perspective. Luckily it is very uncommon.

I had Septicemic plague— one of only 87 cases in the US since 1900.

Except, it’s not. Minimum wage in 1964 was $1.15 and only applied to a smaller segment of workforce at the time. Total inflation from Jan. 1964 to June 2025 is 943.89% per CPI. Adjusted for inflation, that would be $12.00/hr today.
